We came to Matchbox in Silver Spring for brunch and were seated in the bar area. The food itself was decent, but unfortunately the service completely ruined the experience. We overheard the bartenders saying they were down a barback and had to pick up extra work, which we tried to be understanding about. Anyone who's worked in a bar knows brunch can be hectic. That said, the attitude from the server/bartenders was unnecessary and unprofessional. We asked for water and waited...
Overall I definitely recommend this restaurant. It gives a great overall cute casual vibe. The service was great, the staff were very nice and friendly. The price was great. The drinks were great. The food was good too. The mini burgers were great. The shrimp Alfredo pizza was good. The steak and eggs were okay but eatable, the potatoes on the side were great. It's a great brunch option.
We went for my daughter's birthday. The vibe was great. Love the DJ. My server was very good. Although we didn't get the brunch it was a great price. We just ordered off of the menu. I would go back again.
