Red Maple Asian Cuisine and Bar

this place is a hit for the sushi (and dessert) but I would pass on the other food. great service and nice decor. 5 stars for sushi, 3 stars for non-sushi menu items.

Worst service in the entire world, they need to get another job

Red Maple is more than a sushi place and COULD be a great place to hang out. I’ve been a patron since they’ve opened and might dine in more if the atmosphere was more inviting. Every time I’ve dined in, only about 20% to 30% of their tables are full.

FOOD - They have a nice variety of Chinese, Japanese, and Thai entrees in addition to sushi. Generous portions that are full of flavor, and not overly sauced.

SERVICE - Although the restaurant was far from full on a Thursday night at 6:30, we were rushed every step of the way; from drink orders, to bringing the check. Instead of a leisurely meal with great conversation, there were constant interruptions beyond polite attentiveness.

ATMOSPHERE - I would not describe this place as cozy, more of a 90s club vibe - dark interior with bright lights. The menus could use a refresh as several of the prices were crossed off and written in with some items crossed off because they are no longer available. The temperature when I was there a few days ago was uncomfortable. To be fair, it was 90 degrees out, but it felt like it was also 90 degrees in the restaurant, and humid, with no fans.

ordered through Uber Eats at 7:20PM and delivery was to be by 8:00. Food wasn’t ready for driver to pick up until 9:00 we didn’t get our food until 9:20. TWO HOURS AFTER WE ORDERED! Don’t take a chance on this restaurant for delivery.

Very cool place. Ordered spring rolls and yaki soba with pork. Food was excellent and lovingly made. The bar is really neat and cozy with friendly staff. If you enjoy Japanese food you should definitely try this place out.

First time visit, not sure if we will go again. Shortly after we arrived, the waiter spilled the ice water on me. The whole right side of my body was soaked. They got it mopped up and cleaned the floor quickly. I expected they would make my entry free, or comp desserts, but no. I was very disappointed. May not return. However, I thought the food was very good and well prepared. Their customer service should be better.

I asked for Spicy Drunken Noodles and I could not taste any spiciness. The food was disappointing but a fair price.

We came in for dinner and had our 4 year old with
us. Really happy we stopped by, great food (and the spicy actually meant there was some spice, very nice touch), friendly staff who were very attentive, and a very comfortable environment.
Every dish was enjoyable, even the child ate his fill.
Very pleased with our visit.

Parking: Located behind building, but directly accessible to the restaurant (not obvious from the front of the building while driving by)

This is one of our favorites in the four corners area of Silver Spring. Food has always been top notch, and the ever-changing sushi variety always offer something interesting.

Good portions for kids, and those fun make your own sodas make it a good experience for the whole family...

The Asian girl taking orders to go was EXTREMELY RUDE. As she was doing us a favor taking our order and making faces when we had questions. She was raising her voice to other customers as well.
Food was okay but definitely not coming back with the service they offer.
