So wonderful the legacy of Mrs. Kay's continues albeit under a new name. Went back for a 2nd time on my DC visit (had a place at Juniper Trail for 3.5 months) so wanted to revisit a haunt from when I was a kid (had sent them photos from 40-50 years ago inside). Gnocchi was honestly so good it was what I came back for. They pan fry them plus have them in a polenta type base. Never seen this before. Service is excellent and inside is beautiful. A true classic and best place for miles in this area of town.

The restaurant and staff are lovely. Cocktails were good as was the service. The manager stopped by to check in with us which is always appreciated.
The food left something to be desired. The fried green tomatoes didn't have much flavor on their own and the sauce on the plate was minimal. The salad garnish was also minimal so it didn't add much. I got the pork Milanese for dinner. For $34 it was maybe 5oz of flattened pork with a mustard sauce, potato puree, and the same minimal garnish salad of sweet pickle coins, parsley, and red onion that was on the fried green tomatoes. Upon seeing it, I felt like I had already overpayed by $10+. The pork was fairly unseasoned and the sauce was just okay. The potatoes were GREAT, credit where it is due, buttery and well seasoned. My friend got the steak, which I thought about but $35 for a no-name cut seems high to me, I think I would have gotten it if it was priced appropriately higher and a listed cut (Filet, NY, Ribeye, etc). We all ordered dessert as well. Not sure if they make the ice cream or buy it but it needs help. One of us order the marshmallow ice cream and couldn't tell it was marshmallow because it was a vanilla base with pieces of untoasted marshmallow in it. Another one ordered the coconut sorbet which was almost flavorless and we didn't finish it. I had the carrot & parsnip cake which was fine, about on par with something I would expect a friend to bring to a potluck.
All in all we had a lovely evening, it just seems like there needs to be a refocus on the menu a bit as the perceived value is very much not there.

I was STUNNED by the experience I had at our friendly neighborhood restaurant, Zinnia this weekend. We all know and love the beautiful ambiance and the fantastic staff, but the chefs at Zinnia have really stepped up their culinary game to serve up delightful gourmet dishes that are now rivaling some of the 5-star restaurants in the DC area!! YES - 5 STAR!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you haven’t been to Zinnia in the past few months it’s time to book a reservation there, because this one just keeps getting better and better!
Came here last night and had an absolutely wonderful time.
We were immediately welcomed by Aiden while the other hostess was seating someone. What a guy. 11/10 for him. He was so welcoming and genuine. After we were seated in the garden (which was so quiet and peaceful) we placed our order with Maeve who was also wonderful. 11/10 for her, too. Food was brought out after a very short wait and was nothing short of amazing. Maeve and Andrew (also 11/10) took care of us the while we celebrated into the night.
All four of us had such a great time, I find it incredibly hard to believe anyone can rate this place anything less than five stars.
Thank you again to the entire staff.

No respect. Delayed service
lovely atmosphere outside on a beautiful day in the garden. The service was ok, things forgotten and just not present at all except for taking the order and delivering it. Unfortunately the food was really mediocre and not worth the price. My cocktail was awful. I will focus on appetizers and salads if I go again and stick with wine not a mixed drink.
