“Very cool!!! This mall was always kind of lame with lack luster cheap stores. But they have really elevated this place by adding this cool food hall. There’s an upscale style bar where you can bring the food you get from the various food stations. Lots of awesome international food options.

I spoke at length with the bartender at C3 and the owner of MoMo the Nepalese dumpling joint. All very authentic with good vibes and great people.

“This is an adorable wine bar- everyone is very nice and professional and they absolutely know their wine styles - it just feels like it caters a bit too much to older folks but could really attract more millennials with some improvements. With Rockville/Kensington becoming younger and younger there is a lot of potential to bring in more business if they remodeled a bit and boosted the atmosphere (better music, more talkative staff, maybe some wine-special events like a “Pinot noir night” or themed around highlighting specific regions…or trivia is always safe). “This place is soooo cozy and feels just like home. Their food is always delicious. I had veggie beyaynetu, and you could tell it was made fresh and was absolutely delicious.
They have incredibly sweet and welcoming hosts, esp Maraki. She really makes you feel cared for.
On two different occasions, they treated me to Buna on the house which was prepared in a traditional way, with frankincense and all 🤭 I just love it so much! I wish I lived in the DMV area so I could come here all the time.“

“Checked out Sonoma’s for the first time and left really happy we did. The atmosphere is one of the first things that stood out. Open, comfortable, and laid out well, with plenty of TVs and seating whether you’re there to watch a game or just hang out. Service was on point from start to finish.

We sampled some of the food as the new owner starts putting his own spin on the menu, and it was a great first impression.
The honey sriracha wings were outstanding, great flavor and cooked perfectly, and the pierogies were also a solid hit. Add in affordable beer prices and a strong lineup of local drafts, and it checks a lot of boxes.

Found out later in the night that it was karaoke night, which sounded like a fun time, we couldn’t stay this round, but it’s definitely on the list for next visit. Sonoma’s feels like a place that’s heading in a really good direction, and we’ll be back soon.“

From the moment we sat down, she greeted us with a warm smile and an infectious energy that set the tone for the whole meal. “My husband and I decided to stay here overnight during our drive home from a beach vacation. I am covered in mosquito bites and am just miserable. I couldn’t wait to take a shower. Well let me tell you, I have NEVER taken a shower as good as the shower I just took in this hotel. It scratched every mosquito bite on my body simultaneously and felt so amazing. The provided toiletries smell like I just stepped out of a spa. The towel was fluffy but not linty. The water pressure was immaculate. The temperature was consistent and easy to set to the perfect amount of hotness. And my skin doesn’t feel like it’s been stripped of all of its moisture like it does after a shower at most hotels. I will only stay at this chain from now on if they’re all like this. I need to know how to get this at home. I’m serious. Best shower of my life.“

“This was easy when staying at the Crown, nice atmosphere with happy hour until 6pm. Service is great and food is good for a small menu but great choices. I had grilled chicken thighs on rice with a side salad and it was very tasty. I’m back again but just with chicken Caesar salad, good beer and drink choices too.“

We now live in Upper Marlboro, but I continued to come all the way from Upper Marlboro to Silver Spring just to come to Upper Crust. “Lunch with small group on a quiet winter weekday no one else in the place. My steakhouse burger was nicely cooked but non-memberable. The place did provide me with the option for a side salad instead of fries, which was made with fresh greens and very tasty. My friend was able to get her burger on gluten-free bread, and they nicely put her accompanying fries on a separate plate for the rest of us to nosh on.“

“My second visit, and the first one for two companions, we went for lunch. The atmosphere is very nice, quiet but not overly so. The staff greeting at the door is very pleasant, with smiles all around. Takumi offers specials for lunch, for $16-$18, including a Sushi one. The specials are served on a beautiful dark wooden tray, which includes the appetizer (salad or miso soup), a choice of 4 main courses (I enjoyed both Don, a bowl or rice with either eel or chirashi, a mix of raw fish; also on offer is a shrimp tempura, and the third dish is a nigiri sushi roll, (choice of 4). With this comes a small tray with three compartments, one with a salad (I had squid once and seaweed once), two and a piece of soft tofu in a slightly sweet syrup to wrap up the meal. The a la carte menu is very tempting as well, and the special rolls are delicious. All fish is flown fresh from Japan, and included Hokkaido uni (sea urshin) which was wonderful. All around, a lovely experience. We will be back!“

“Location location, as they say. This is the spot. I enjoy a good deal of vegan eats later in the evening. This place boasts an uplifting atmosphere and pleasant scenery.

Vegetarian options: I usually get fries but am sure about other vegetarian options.

We ordered happy hour dishes, which were mostly your standard - but the oysters had an Asian flare to them and were prepped so they were nice and easy to eat. Maryland roll and Scallop roll were amazing, and every Sashimi we had (Amberjack, yellowtail, bluefin tuna) were some of the most delicious and fresh sashimi I’ve ever had. “worst service ever. My family and I actually had to walk out and we were a group of 10. They did not want to serve us and I was told I should of made reservations. I watched the waitress/server clean other people’s table and completely ignore us. A customer who was a regular had to wipe down my table for us (I should’ve walked out then )but we drove an hour to come here And we were trying to just deal with the poor customer service so we can eat. Customers that were seated after us were able to order before us and receive their food. when we finally had the opportunity to order food we were told that they were out of oxtails pork and fish which made no sense because people were still ordering takeout for the same items we were trying to order.. You would think we were sitting there for free meals. The waitress told me she was going to the back to check to see what they have but when she came back she went to the bar area and started taking someone else’s orders and completely ignored us .We ended up walking out with no apology given. She Just looked at us as if she was happy to see us go because she couldn’t handle a table size of 10 people. All we were trying to do was support our Haitians. Its a shame we were treated so poorly. I suggested this restaurant to my family who drove an hour to be treated so poorly .Do not visit this restaurant“
