“The pizza here is ok...about what you would expect for a place in a rural area with no serious competition around. We went traditional and ordered a large pepperoni pizza, garlic bread, and marinara sauce. I thought the pepperoni could have more of a bite to them, and this was a cheesier pizza than I typically like - much rather prefer a saucier pie. I would certainly come back, but I would like to try other options. I saw a pickle pizza that looked intriguing...”
“Love the atmosphere! Love that they have food on site and have events through out the week such as trivia and bingo! St. Patrick’s Day celebration was such a nice relaxed atmosphere. Truly enjoyed!”
“Great wines! They have all types from dry to sweet so everyone can find something they like. Would definitely recommend it if in the area and can't wait to go back!”
“I have had Jarrettsville Creamery several times! The food and ice cream are both amazing. I got married in Jarrettsville and knew that I wanted them to cater the desserts. The communication process was amazing. They were so detailed and quick to respond. We ordered ice cream, cookies, and brownies and they delivered them to the venue. Absolutely delicious! Our guests are still raving over the desserts. Thank you, Jarrettsville Creamery!”
“Nice place with Live music on the weekend. Dog and kid friendly. Ordered 2 flights of beer and I liked all of them except for one. My favorite was a strawberry beer that reminded me of the old Pete's Wicked Strawberry Ale. Very busy and staff is friendly. The line is long but moved very quickly. Food is amazing, especially the pulled pork sandwich. Would definitely recommend and will definitely visit again!”
“This is a carry out steamed crab place plus other seafood. We have been getting crabs here for many years and they are always the best. Check out their menu for other seafood items or food to accompany crabs.”
“The best ice cream spot around. The customer service cannot be matched, and the ice cream is second to none! They make some awesome gourmet milkshakes that will blow you away. A staple to our community!!”
“Very Homey and great service. Food is outstanding. I had breakfast and will go back again. Maybe lunch.Parking: Usually so crowded. But got there before the lunch crowd.”
“My new favorite Delicious, inexpensive and friendly breakfast spot! Can be busy but worth the wait. I sat in the section to the left with the little breakfast bar area and had the sweetest waitress.”
“A very reasonably priced country cafe with all the right food and an ice cream shop built in. My wife had the cream of crab and said it was one of best she's ever had, while I had a delicious Cowboy burger. Lexi was a great hostess and continually helped out our waitress to ensure our satisfaction by getting us drink refills and answering questions. Definitely recommend!”
“4 Stars Great food to eat and the staff are friendly and respectful. Didn't have to wait to long for our food. They have high chairs as well. The only problem was the bowling alley that this restaurant is connected to was packed and didn't have any seats so we ate here and left happy with our food & time spent eating dinner there.Parking: Plenty of parking as its shared with the Bowling alley. And close parking to the entrance.Kid-friendliness: Friendly staff and environment clean and well cared for.Wheelchair accessibility: Front entrance into the bowling alley is wheelchair accessible and then turn Right towards the restaurant/bar.”
“Stopped in Gene's for lunch. Chili was great, the fries crispy and not greasy, great atmosphere and friendly attentive staff. Fair priced meal and draft beer. Repeat visits for sure!”
“This is a ma & pa kind of place that just makes you feel at home when you enter. All of the staff are wonderful and struck me as people who are just genuinely kind hearted. The inside is kept clean and neat, homemade cookies are displayed perfectly through an old school diner case which complimented the atmosphere well. The food was absolutely delicious. The personal Stromboli was baked to perfection and was a huge portion for such a low price. The cheesesteak sub is a new favorite and easily one of the best I have ever had. The meat was deliciously seasoned, the sub was well packed, the cheese melty, the fried onions blended perfectly. Even the BLT was done well. The pumpkin rolls were mouth watering and a sweet savory finish to top off a delicious dinner. I cannot say enough good things about this unexpected gem. From its atmosphere and people to its seemingly homemade recipes and prices, I can see why this shop has been around for so long. I only wish we had known about it sooner. I highly recommend a stop in for some food and good conversation if you're in the area.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu options available and the staff was so kind to kiddoWheelchair accessibility: Easily Accessible”
“Local bar restaurant with live music on weekends. Good food selection and plenty of adult beverage selections. Biker, family, and kid friendly.Check out the food, drink,, and music ?.”
“We reserved the back area of the main tap room for my dad’s surprise birthday party. It was a blast and Falling Branch was the best place to throw it. The staff was friendly and very helpful, plus their selection of beer and ciders for the non beer drinkers was great! 10/10 recommend throwing a party here or just visiting for the day. One of my favorite breweries to go to!”
“I don’t make it up to Harford County too often anymore. But when I do, I will go out of my way to come to Hickory Station. Still to date, the best cheesesteak and Italian sub I’ve had. Pizza is very good too. Support local, these are good hard-working people.”
“We got here about an hour before closing. Had a sample flight, a glass each and some cheese. Good view outside. Very delicious and wonderful experience. The owner was knowledgeable and very kind. We can’t wait to return. Dragon Berry was a favorite, if you prefer more sweet.”
“I can't believe as long as I have lived in this area I had missed out on trying this restaurant. Unlike the strip Center typical Chinese carryouts, this place stands alone from what many of us are accustomed to at the aforementioned strip Center carryouts. I was very pleasantly surprised at the various dishes I have sampled here now in the last 2 years. They have all been much better with a different and better taste then the same dishes at those other cookie cutter Chinese carryouts. Customer service is good and the food is good.”
“My family and I have loved it here since 1999. Such wonderful people. Great food.Vegetarian options: There’s various pasta dishes and vegetables and salads. No plant based meat offerings for those who’d want them.Dietary restrictions: GF vegetarianParking: The lot is smaller but street parking and extra lots across the quiet streetKid-friendliness: They’re welcome. My four grew up here :)”
“Done both dine in and take out, loved the food every time I went. The service is amazing, and the atmosphere is great. The only reason I didn't put 5 starts is because it is an older building.”
“This is my new breakfast spot. The wife and I went out for breakfast Friday morning she recommended twin silos. We split a sausage gravy biscuit. Then both got our own meals and drinks with a coffee. It was $20 that's incredible cheap these days. Food was good service was excellent didn't have to ask for refills. So much food we took half home. Definitely found my new spot, and don't have to drive into town.”
“Honestly only writing this review because of Jake! Who ever his mama is, raised him right! He was so sweet to walk by and ask if we wanted refills and then since we had two babies, he didn't make a fuss about the mess they made. He was so sweet and made a joke how he's seen worse. Don't change Jake!”
“I've been living in Harford County for almost 13 years and this if the 1st time I had a snowball from here, although I've driven by so many times before. I only get egg-custard snowballs with marshmallow on top and this place did not disappoint. The portion size was good and the snowball was really good! They had so many flavors to choose from, the menu was huge! The staff was very friendly and they took cards (some only take cash). I will definitely be returning, on and by the way the snow ball stand was super cute, gave off very much snowball vibes!”
“We've ordered take-out from Dragon China Kitchen for several years now, and this time I ordered Orange Chicken. I asked for "mild" since it's supposed to be a spicy dish. They call it "little spicy." It was very good! A sweet AND savory sauce with just a hint of heat and random little bursts of orange that must have come from bits of orange zest. The broccoli had a nice crunch to it. Would definitely order this again! We are very glad that they are so close and they make very good food.Vegetarian options: There are several meatless options such as Vegetable, Fried Rice, Vegetable Lo Mein, Vegetable Mei Fun (has eggs), and a Vegetable section with Sauteed Broccoli, Broccoli with Garlic Sauce, Bean Curd Homestyle, Sauteed Mixed Vegetables, and a few others, though I have not tried any of those yet.”
“The drive-thru is quick even when there is a long line. Even the employees inside are very nice and polite and get my order correctly and quickly. Baskin Robbins also has a great selection of ice cream.”
“Yesterday we went to another grocery store about a mile down the street and the girl at that bakery was extremely rude and told us they needed 48 hours notice for cupcakes. So, I called ShopRite and they were extremely helpful and made cupcakes for us the next day like we needed for our gender reveal. Everyone that helped us was super friendly and the customer service was exceptional. Our friends and family all asked where we got the cupcakes from because they were delicious and so cute. On top of that they were cheap. We will definitely be going back to this bakery for our future needs. Thanks for making our special day even better!!”
“I dine here frequently, because the place has great food and service. Even when the place is busy, food always comes out in a timely manner. I just read some other reviews regarding quality of food, and pricing. As far as pricing, while some menu items have gone up over the past couple of years, I still find their portion to price ratio to be good. If you’re going to complain about prices going up, I guess you don’t do the grocery shopping in your house. Don’t expect a business to maintain prices from 4/5 years ago. Everything is more expensive today. If you find it too expensive for your liking, stay home and cook your own meal. Food quality: I’ve never had a disappointing meal here, and have tried just about everything on the menu.”
“This is known as a Harford County staple. We had a nice evening. It was very old school feeling in here, and very popular for families or older crowds. They have a full bar and a whole dining room. The prices are affordable. They're known for their pit beef, you can smell the pit walking in this place. The meat is fresh and they're also known for their fish being fresh as well. Their corn fritters, that are deep fried, cover in powders sugar that you dip in maple syrup. Wow. That was something different and so good. Would recommend. They make their rolls homemade here and they're fresh and warm. The meat here tastes great. I loved the corned beef. The roast beef was good and so was the ham! Robin was our waitress and she was so sweet and lovely.”
“Best fast food choice in harford County. Always consistent excellent food and service. Way better service than the bel air and abingdon locations. The service here is so positive and friendly it is exactly the same atmosphere that Bento Sushi is famous for. The experience is so pleasant it makes you want to eat here everyday.”

“My adventuring party enjoys stopping here after we peruse the library for information about our latest quest. This time was no different. We had just finished collecting our bounties for having finished the library summer reading challenge. Except me. I'm so busy making sure engine else gets their rewards I forget to get mine. We decided we should take a quick rest and fuel up. I guess the big headline here is that I got ice cream that wasn't mint chocolate chip and didn't immediately regret it. There is, in my book, no greater praise for ice cream. The not mint ice cream was delicious and the portion was VERY generous. It was so good that my oldest offered to hold my ice cream while I was doing something else and ended up consuming it himself. I got his Italian ice which was really good as well so everything worked out. Service was prompt and courteous. We will come again. Perhaps when I return to library to get my summer reading challenge mug.”
