“I cannot stress enough how amazing this restaurant is. The atmosphere from the moment you walk in is so inviting yet exquisite and almost fanciful. My wife and came late into the night about an hour and half before they closed; I had called beforehand to make sure they could accommodate us and whom I presume was the owner, was so kind hearted and offered such care with their attitude. If that wasn't enough, the food was hands down some of the best food I've ever eaten. I had gotten something simple that I've had many times before, orange chicken, and truly there will never be another orange chicken that even stands close to the masterpiece I was given. The batter of the fried chicken was packed with flavor, the sauce was the perfect balance of sweet citrus, the vegetables was blanched to perfection and there was even what I believe was sliced wedges of minimally sauteed orange; no bitter, overpowering, peel anywhere in sight. I put some house made chili oil on it and the dish went from a 10 to an 11. The favors became so elevated and the sweet citrus with the intensely flavorful heat was incredible. My wife got the tofu Pad Thai, heat level-Make me cry, and for the first time in such a long time was the food spicy enough for them. It can be incredibly difficult to find food that meets that promised burn, but they lived up to the expectation. From what I tried, it was intensely flavorful while staying very well balanced; within the first 15 seconds I was coughing a little bit due to the spice but I had to stop myself was trying another bite because it was just so delicious. We ended up getting fried veggies rolls as an appetizer ; they had such a pleasant texture and the sauce enhanced the rolls instead of overpowering them. For drinks I had a Mai Tai, and my wife had a Thai iced tea, both of which were very good and the presentation on them was amazing. Overall, cannot recommend enough; it will make going to other restaurants, difficult, because you will just want to eat here again.Vegetarian options: You pick your protein with most of the dishes (outside traditional and chef specials) and tofu is an option. They also offer multiple vegetarian appetizers.“

“Don’t let the location fool you! I ordered takeout here, and somehow managed to order everything except a Japanese dish. I can be a bit picky after growing up in japan, but let me tell you… even just the side salad made my day! The dressing on it took me back!! I’m excited to try more of their food, I’m very pleased.“

“This has been my favorite sushi place in Bangor that I have found so far. I go here often for the service, the ambiance, and the food. As a California girl, I've had all types of quality sushi from the cheap and sad sushi to bank-breaking omakase. Green Tea is at a good comfort level of good sushi at a medium price range. Not mind-blowing sushi like I've had at other places but still very good for the middle of Maine. I've come here to dine with 1 person but have also come to dine with 12 people. Green tea is very good at accommodating your party and taking early reservations for large parties. I always especially love the private rooms for small groups where you can close the door, and, whenever you need the waiter/waitress, you flip the light switch and the red lantern outside your door lights up alerting the staff that you request their services. The restaurant tries to stay true with all Japanese decor. I love the selection they have for their menu. There's something for everyone. Even a large drink menu. If you order any of the boat sushis, you'll get this beautiful presentation of your sushi on their large bamboo boats. Or, if you ordered enough sushi rolls, they might put it on a boat anyway! I've also never found a dessert I didn't like.“

“Amazing everytime we go! Amazing food and service. We were not rushed even though we were the last ones to leave 20 mins after closing. A little pricey but always well worth it for the prices. I always take home leftovers enough for another meal (or 2!)Update 2024.This is still a family favorite and the Chef was fantastic with our five yr old. Had him laughing in fits. Our son wouldn't leave without giving him a hug!“

“The food was DELICIOUS! They were quick, kind and I liked that they repeated my order back to me to be sure they had it right. I had the filet bento box and the filet was so tender. They give you large portions, so it's definitely a good price for the amount of food they give you.“

“This is one of the best restaurants in Bangor. I have been going here for years and never had a bad dish. Its styling takes strong inspiration from Japan, with sections with raised bamboo flooring in which you sit closer to the table. They also have regular seating, but the other sections are very fun and unique. The food tastes closer to authentic Japanese rather than other restaurants which are typically more Americanized. Definitely worth checking out. Pictured, is two of the sushi rolls and one of the chicken curries with bubble teas.“
