Loved the lobster pot pie! They also had an open mic night with live music that was really fun.
Only go for karaoke so I don't get to eat, yet it's a vibe!!!

So. We had a choice to make between two places and decided to leave one whale behind and come to Finback.
Total right move. Completely different vibe. Matty P was awesome as our bartender. On point. He made some great recommendations. I’ll second the lobster pot pie. Slamming.

Nice laid-back atmosphere. Lobster roll was devine. Meals were fairly large portions.

Came here for a late snack but was sad that the chowder was lukewarm (they probably didn’t expect people to order soup so late). The ambiance reminded me of a hallmark movie dive bar with the Christmas lights. The blueberry cocktails were great!

Didn’t get food, but MattyV behind the bar was awesome. Get his smoked old fashioned and ask him how this photo happened. Any bar that celebrates old, old wooden ships is worth visiting

Food was delicious and prices weren’t bad for the area. Would recommend the cowboy burger or the steak cheese sandwich.

The fish and chips were melt in your mouth delicious, and I basically inhaled the clam chowder, it was so good! They were short staffed but they did a great job with service. Highly recommend! Also wanted to add that the bartender was incredible!

Matty V was the reason we came into the bar. He was so welcoming and had all the right combinations of entertaining and service that you expect from a bartender. It was a highlight of our time in Bar Harbor to sit at his bar.
Gem of Bar Harbor.
The chowder, crab crakes and lobster roll were all spot on!

Short review. Terrific place we wound up at after Arcadia. Average us in with me and Gigi's 5 stars

I never really review anything but I had a very odd experience. I left this restaurant because a family member of mine unfortunately got sick before we were seated. The waitress I guess was very “turned off” by that. After cleaning things up (overall it was a very mild spill on the floor by the front door) and we had been seated the waitress came back and said we had to leave, she could not serve us because of what had happened. Very odd and bizarre behavior by the waitress. She never asked if my family member was okay and if she could do anything, a huge lack of empathy. The hostess couldn’t believe we’d been asked to leave and did apologize. It wasn’t worth fighting over, I have been to this place before and it’s good food wise. We went and ate somewhere else. I eat out and travel a decent amount, I have never experienced such awful customer service. Maybe this person had a bad day, I’ll give the service industry worker the benefit of the doubt. One of those weird life experiences we will laugh/joke about I am sure down the road. Unfortunately for this joint I doubt I’ll ever return for a meal. Bummer. The other place we ate at was great though. Silver linings.
