Fish & Whistle Reviews
Beautiful bar and amazing food! Great fried fish and soft serve
I stopped here on my bike after a long ride on the Eastern Trail. There was outdoor seating near a bike rack and the server brought me some excellent chowder and a Weihenstephan Lager on draft. If you are biking the Eastern Trail stop here!
Our first Maine restaurant. The food was very delicious and the service was great . Very friendly staff. Thanks Morgan and Monica for your suggestions on food selections. ♥️

Fish & Whistle is a charming restaurant that offers a delightful dining experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with cozy coastal vibes created by soft lighting, nautical touches, and vintage details that make it feel homey without trying too hard. Visitors can enjoy a good selection of dishes, including the highly recommended fish and chips, which are cooked to perfection with a crispy batter and moist interior, showcasing the restaurant’s commitment to quality. The fish is perfectly crispy on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth fresh on the inside, making it a standout. The chips are golden, fluffy, and just the right amount of salty, complementing the meal beautifully.
Food enthusiasts can also try the fish sandwich and chowder, both praised for their flavor and generous portions, with the chowder containing so much fish it’s almost a meal. Vegetarians can savor the tempeh sandwich, and the menu offers vegetarian-friendly options. The restaurant’s unique charm is enhanced by the curved baskets used for dishes, making them easy to handle, and the relaxed, genuine service makes guests feel like regulars.
To complement the meals, there is a selection of local and fresh drinks, including ginger beer and great dark n stormy cocktails. For dessert, the sea salt vanilla swirled with roasted pineapple ice cream is a must-try. Despite its small size, the restaurant provides a cozy space where visitors enjoy a friendly atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a memorable lunch or dinner. Parking may be limited on the street, but there are alternative options nearby.
