We went for lobster rolls and boy did we get lobster. So much lovely fresh lobster. Had we known HOW much, we’d have shared a lobster roll. $50, and could have been shared between 3. Sitting in the sun watching the fish boats come in, heaven. Apparently this is usually served with mayonnaise but we had been warned that the Connecticut version (melted butter) was better, and for us at least it was. Would very happily return!
Came to Shaw’s on our last night of vacation, and simultaneously their last night for the season. We had a large group of 5 kids and 4 adults and nobody left disappointed! Lobster was some of the best around and at a reasonable price. Scallops and chowder were also favorites. There are several great non-seafood items on the menu and truly everything was so delicious and fresh. Ate indoors on a cold night and it was a very warm and cozy atmosphere with gorgeous views. Nice historic/authentic atmosphere. Obviously smells weren’t the best. Staff wasn’t super friendly. Food was delicious. Lobster rolls were great as was the haddock, scallops and clams. Shrimp were TINY…like salad size. Prices were a bit high for having to stand and order at the counter, go get your food yourself, etc. All in all, would come back.
