“We stayed two nights while dropping our son off at Bowdoin. The owner Eileen was very welcoming. We stayed in the suite, which was spacious, beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast both days. We definitely plan to stay there again when we are in Brunswick.“

“We had a great lunch on a Monday afternoon. It was a little chilly inside, but that is to be expected with an old building. Service was friendly and efficient.
Local greens in the side salad were fresh and delicious. Loved the pickles with the sandwich.
Reuben was amazing- not greasy, fresh house corned beef. My husband had the patty melt with yummy sweet potato fries.
There are some other items I would like to go back and try, like the fried pickled asparagus !

Upon entering, I experienced some initial confusion regarding where to sit and how to be greeted. Clearer signage or direction at the entrance could help create a smoother first impression and improve the overall customer experience.

One of the restaurant’s biggest strengths is its combination of competitive pricing and generous portion sizes. The availability of homemade desserts is also a great touch and adds to the appeal.

The food itself was compelling enough to make me want to return. The flavors exceeded my expectations, particularly considering the restaurant’s target demographic and price point.

Amanda, a front-of-house team member, deserves special recognition for providing exceptional service. She was attentive, proactive in addressing customer needs, and consistently engaged with patrons throughout the meal. Her customer-service approach made a noticeable difference in the overall experience.

The main reasons I would not give the restaurant a full five stars were the high noise level in the dining area and some inconsistency with the food specials. For example, the tuna was somewhat dry, which may have been the result of cooking it too quickly at a higher temperature. The Blueberry pie and the cheesecake were great, the chicken marcela was a bit oily.

Despite these minor issues, the combination of good value, generous portions, enjoyable flavors, homemade desserts, and excellent service makes this a restaurant I would gladly visit again.“

“This a perfect example of how ones perspective could evaluate their experience. If you're an actual Mainer, this us a perfectly good place to grab lunch, dinner, shoot pool or listen to live music. The food was decent. The homemade crinkle fries were the best I've ever had (usually crinkle fries come from frozen, yuck), and my steak bomb was decently prepared. They have some local beers on tap and the usual cheap pilsners. They have pool tables here, it's cash only, and I felt right at home with the locals. If you're not from around here, go somewhere else because it's not like what you're used to. Go to the pretentious Flux and complain about there because you'll be more used to that environment.
