Absolutely excellent meal ... not always easy to find top notch cuisine in touristy towns, but this is clearly an exception.

The best service in town (others should work on this standard!!). My high-end chef friend from NYC thought all 3 of our dishes, and drinks were excellent. The other 2 of us, as foodies, agreed! Not an inexpensive option in town, but the best for your dining $$. Sunday brunch is excellent and affordable ;-)

The food was so good, nice view from the patio. The service was good but not the highlight of my experience. Will definitely be back to try other items of the menu.

Very delicious food! I was so pleasantly surprised by the dishes. Also our server, Maddie, was so absolutely lovely. She was helpful, kind, and so accommodating to our party of 3 and a baby. It's so tough to dine with a baby and she totally made us want to come back. Great spot!!

Unique and creative menu. Our scallops from the specials menu was definitely the highlight, though we enjoyed each item we ordered. Reservations recommended.

We had the most wonderful experience at Bred in the Bone. Our meals were some of the best food we have ever had! The pace was leisurely, the staff wonderful, atmosphere elegant and comfortable. Lucky for us we don't have to go far to enjoy again!

I am fond of saying that if you really want to know the character of a Maine town, visit in the winter. This place is clearly a labor of love in Damariscotta, whilst Wiscasset had pretty much turned the lights off, Bred in The Bone was full of a great cross section of locals, tourists, families, couples and those with grey locks. Based in a mid nineteenth century brick storefront, the decor is a mix of rustic and euro-country looks. Cozy and warm. The front of house team were welcoming, and served a casual but not slow pace. This is not a place to rush through so I think they have their timing spot on. Their menu is not extensive and it is not coastal Maine typical. This to me is a great plus for them (and me!) as many of us look beyond the maine coast experience even when in Maine. I started with a tartare of Canadian Arctic Char and Salmon. Lovely and tasty, with microgreens and loverly charred bread. A very large portion for the money as well. I followed with a black angus osso buco served on rutabaga puree with purple carrots. Delicious winter fare. I paired the started with a snappy Pinot Blanc and the Osso Buco with a nice Chianti. The Wine list is euro forward which again, a great distinguished selection. I love how this place thrived in FEB and will look forward to coming back and trying the spring menu. Thank you to Bred in the Bone. Very well done indeed.

The best brunch I’ve ever had.

Great dinner at Bred in the Bone. Highly recommend. Made a reservation ahead, greeted and seated promptly, had a lovely table in the cute front area, friendly service, and every course was delicious. We enjoyed the roasted carrot special, dips and pita, salads, and pasta courses. Plus tried two of the desserts.

Another outstanding experience with BITB! We tried Brunch this time - highly recommend the shakshuka, and we also had the pasta special. Forget Primo or The Alna General Store - BITB is the best restaurant in mid coast Maine hands down - we should all support this restaurant as it’s a shining star and destination attractor for Damariscotta!
