The best restaurant since living in Maine for 15 years. I’ve had the please to sample food across all regions of Maine. Bread In The Bone is by far the best of the best. The atmosphere is serene and peaceful. The staff instills a sense of genuine care for everyone. The Chef took the time to come to our table and present the specials along with the awesome staff. Every choice from Appetizer to the main dish was perfectly done and absolutely delicious! We plan to make it a weekly visit and when family visits, it will be our first stop.Thank you for the best experience.

This is quietly one of the best restaurants in Maine. Lunch and dinner are both fantastic, with reasonable prices and generous portion sizes. In December on the dinner menu they had THE best pasta dish I've ever eaten in my life, and I've had a lot of pasta dishes at great restaurants all over the country.

Was hoping for a tasty meal, alas, the word is insipid. Overcooked pasta with zero flavor. Tough pork, left uneaten. Staff is not engaged, and had to summon the wait staff for basics. A true disappointment. Great ambience, however full boxes to go are telling. Hungry.

I accidentally left my purse behind at the Bred in the Bone brunch restaurant. Accommodating doesn’t even begin to describe the kindness they showed me. They secured my belongings safely and hand delivered them to me all the way from Damariscotta to Freeport ME. They were quick to communicate and empathize with me on such a stressful day. I thought for sure my purse would have been stolen but they were on top of their game and the staff saved me so much financial heart ache with their efforts. Bonus points to owner Beth & Employee Roz who saved the day!Not to mention, I had a fabulous cappuccino @ Bred in the Bone.

We encountered a warm and incredibly thoughtful staff. We had three young children in our party and they welcomed them with open arms.

The food is good, my husband thinks the food is great but I'm not as big a fan. The service is very good. Unfortunately the last time we dined there a woman who was drenched in strong perfume sat nearby and the smell was overwhelming ruining my meal. Seating is tight and although the waitress offered to move us to another table it was in front of the door on a chilly day so we opted to remain at our table. Don't know how else the situation could be fixed but that woman was unaware and it's not the restaurants fault. Next time I'm requesting a table in the back near the bar- views and possibly less perfume.

5. The food is the best in Maine. Attention to detail and tastes are exceptional. Thoughtfully prepared and amazing combinations. We are Portland foodies and this restaurant is hands down the best. Service is impeccable-

This new addition to Damariscotta downtown he certainly worth a stop. It is a small venue, with the first room on the street opening on the kitchen, and a very charming backroom with a bar where, approximately eight people can sit and half a dozen small tables Given the choice, I would absolutely choose the back room, particularly the encounter is somewhat romantic The bartender who happens to be one of the owners is certainly expert in cocktails and guiding you through the wine list. Her husband and partner in the restaurant is also the chef. The menu is short, which I like, since it nearly always warrants on the side cooking, it is attractive and reasonably priced stop. The food itself is delicious, innovative, cooked to perfection, with interesting spices, without falling in the overcomplicated category that Minnie chefs confuse with expertise and sophistication. I would definitely recommenda stop at this place, if you are in Damariscotta. Enjoy!

Interesting not standard food. They put their own slant on every dish. It was all delicious.

Delicious food. Especially the lobster and mushroom toast, roasted carrots, and pappardelle. Wonderful cocktails. Thoughtful wine list. Cozy atmosphere. Friendly, unhurried service. Best restaurant in Mid-Coast Maine. Can’t wait to go back.

Brunch was easily the best breakfast I've ever had. The Waffly Monte Cristo had several delicate, complimentary flavors. My husband said he would go back any time for his delicious Breakfast Burger. Mimosas, bloody marys, and warm chocolate cocktails were also unique and wonderful.
