When in Maine, you have to eat a whole lobster. It was fresh and delicious; what more do you need?I would recommend and come back here if I were to visit Ellsworth again. We came here at the end of August ‘23.We put our names down for a table of 8 and waited about 45 mins before getting a table. We bought drinks from the outdoor bar and sat outside by the water while we waited. Bring bug spray. The food was delicious and we had a great time here. I got the lobster dinner with the upgrade to the shore dinner. That came with a good amount of steamers and mussels and a side of clam chowder. I got to wear a bib while I enjoyed my lobster which was cooked to perfection.

The wait was an hour, the service was disappointing, and the lobster overcooked. We arrived at the front door oozing with anticipation after reading all the amazing reviews. It would be an hour before we could be seated but we were well versed about the beautiful outdoor seating and bar so we meandered out and found a chair for two overlooking the Union River as the sun prepared for its departure. We were serenaded by what I assume was a local musician until nearly the end of our wait. As day turned to night the air turned crisp and the mosquitoes joined the party. We were saved from the cold and biting with a text message alerting us our table was ready. We ordered Lobster Mac and Cheese and Lazy Lobster to share. Sides were garlic mashed potatoes, rice pilaf, and a side salad each with a cranberry Dijon dressing that was the highlight of our evening. The salad was crisp with cucumber slices, pickled red onions, and a single grape tomato. It was a delicious start to the evening. The entrees arrived and giddy with anticipation we stabbed our first pieces of lobster, mine bathed in butter, sherry, and lemon, his buried in lobster infused cheese sauce surrounded by pasta that had long surpassed al dente. Oh sweet lobster of mine was playing in our heads and then like a needle bring drug across an old vinyl album we were jolted back to reality. We tried sawing the lobster into smaller pieces with a table knife but it found it similar to chewing an overcooked steak. We ate the pieces which we found easily "stab-able" and pushed the other inedible parts to the side as we looked for our waiter who had disappeared into the abyss. We finally gave up the fight, flagged down our waiter, who we hadn't spoken to since our salad plates had been collected and asked for take home containers and our check. $85 less in our pocket and 90 minutes of our lifetime passed as we walked away disappointed by what we had hoped would be an epic evening. And while it's been said "good things come to those who wait" it's clear that is not an adequate description of our evening.

This was the best restaurant we ate at from Boston to Maine! We stopped in on a Thursday night, about 10 minutes after they opened. This place filled quickly and there's a reason why--it's sooo good! The prices for the food are amazing--less than half of what the same meal was in Boston! The lobster poutine was divine, our meals were fabulous and served quickly and dessert...oooh baby! The blueberry pie and the cookie sundae were too good to skip! Someday I need to get back to Maine, just to eat here again!

Lobster was great and staff were all super friendly. Was a bit of a wait but you can grab a drink and hang outside and having the automated text for when your table is ready is a great touch to keep an eye on how long your wait is!

A perfect summer stop for a lobster or crab roll on the river - service was great it was their restaurants summer picnic area so quaint and fun. Went twice this summer!

Nothing special... decent clam chowder. Typical overpriced fare. Nothing to write home about. Seems like a tourist trap

Loved it. Half hour wait the end of September. It was well worth the wait. A couple of surf & turfs, some broiled scallops and fried haddock. All were spectacular. And, that blueberry pie is spectacular, the crust is so buttery. It is low-key, old-school, jeans and a t-shirt is perfectly fine, and the food is classically good. Next time I am up in the Acadia area, I will go back.

We had such a great experience the first night that we returned the next evening! The food is fantastic and the owner and staff are wonderful! If you are traveling through Ellsworth or staying nearby, the Union Street Lobster pot is a must. Thanks to Brian and the staff for two great experiences during our visit!

We loved it here! Had about a half hour wait, but it’s so close to town we just did a little walk then sat and looked at the river. The traditional lobster roll was fantastic and the poutine was fun to try, but probably wouldn’t do it again (can’t compare to a lobster dinner or roll). The blueberry pie was incredible!! Huge portion, and must get with ice cream.

Visiting from out of town and this stop was a must based on the reviews. We arrived before the restaurant opened and had a friendly conversation in the parking lot with who we later realized was the owner. Best lobster roll we had on our visit in the area with friendly and fast service. My wife had the lobster Cobb salad, both the salad and roll came with a huge portion of lobster on it. I will have dreams about this from Pittsburgh!

Lobster Pot was an unintended and fantastic choice for us. We were traveling and ended up eating later than expected. Thankfully, this amazing place was open and happy to serve. The food was great, staff and owner were amazingly friendly, and hubby got lobster. ? We would definitely go again. Yay for happenstance!Vegetarian options: They have Salad options.Dietary restrictions: They were sensitive to my food allergies.Kid-friendliness: The kids at the next table were having fun and wearing lobster bibs.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp available
