Great place for a good meal! It's very much worth the short ride from I-95, as an added bonus , there is a great river view just outside the restaurant.Parking: There is plenty of parking across the street with a crosswalk to assist in getting to the restaurant.

The food was good. Some kind of Korean meat slider. Wasn't crazy about the sweet potato fries. Peach pie was OK too. Always nice staff.

I was kind of excited to come in here for breakfast, but was really disappointed. The Service was outstanding, the ambience was pretty cool, but the breakfast was not good. I ordered my eggs over medium, but they came out burnt, the potatoes were dry and look like they've been sitting there for a while. I would not recommend A1dinnerfor breakfast.

Since moving to Maine I've had the A1 Diner on my list of restaurants to visit. I finally got the chance today for brunch and it was great! The brunch menu had several wonderful options including eggs Benedict with lump crab. I had shashuka which is a favorite dish and one I was pleasantly surprised to find. It was delicious!I will definitely be back, probably on the regular now.

Fabulous food in a a classic "lunch car" style diner. We stopped in for breakfast after ice hockey. Regular menu plus an additional specials menu for brunch. Everything was fresh made. Great coffee from a Maine company. Service was friendly and fast inspire of how very busy. Would love to come again for lunch because the rest of the menu looked amazing.

I visited this dinner today 2/3/24 for the first time with my sister. I had heard of this dinner from the food network and it was amazing. The people were very friendly and quick with the food. I had Korean BBQ slider that were amazing and my sister had fish tacos. Definitely worth it. I would go back.

The food is always good....the service is not so much. I ordered a sandwich, with fries, and they brought chips. I pointed out that I ordered fries, and she just said, "I know, I told him that." She did not replace the chips with fries. I had water with my meal, no refill was ever offered, but others were. I was sitting at the counter... I could have reached the darn water myself! I won't go back again.

Small but charming classic diner experience. Food (lunch and breakfast) is excellent and service is knowledgeable, quick, and friendly. Food menu allergens were well known by staff and easily accommodated.

So good! Best tuna melt I've ever had but honestly everything on the menu looks great!

Well, found a gem today. The 1940s steel and wood A1 Diner in Gardiner is such a classic Amercian Diner but with also some great modern meals (scallop BLT, Gorgonzola risotto, blue cheese meatloaf!) I settled for the more pedestrian Reuben and fries but it was just as good as any of those other named dishes I’m sure. Not too far off of 295, I will drive out of my (as I did today) to come back. 5 stars. And kudos to the friendly and patient front of house staff who was running the whole place single handedly! Thank you.

Tasteful variety of traditional and exotic diner fare. Above average quality and service in a typical ME town. Deep history baked into this Worcester Lunch Car model from the mid-twentieth century. Monument to Philip H Duprey.Parking: Nearby free lot a short walk away.
