We’ve been to Bistro Milliard a few times, and we’ll keep coming back. Even though we live in Scarborough, it’s worth the 1:15 drive as a destination, even passing by the many fine Portland restaurants. Tim and crew just do a fantastic job with fresh food prep and interesting menu choices. We had short rib over pasta and halibut. Immediate smiles came to our faces after first bites. Charcuterie board was delicious. Can’t say enough good things about this intimate little spot on Main St in Hallowell.

Charming and intimate experience with this chef owned unique bistro. Highly recommend the Tuna and Muscles. Wine was delightful and the waitress had a great attentive but not overbearing approach. Hidden in bustling Hallowell! Special occasion kind of experience.

The people who work here are the best. So thoughtful and considerate. I recently made a reservation for my son's college parents weekend way in advance. I had to modify the reservation twice because of changing family dynamics and then illness and they responded each time cheerfully and supportively. It's a small place but they never took it personally. Always just focused on taking care of the customer. No wonder this place is so highly rated.

This is a really nice look from pictures, but once you get here, it is completely different. It is super small and has very uncomfortable seating. The food quality was great, but the quantity of the food was not there. The server was ok, not great, but not horrible. I got little neck clam pasta, it did come with 6 clams and pasta was cooked perfectly. I also got the cheese platter for my app. It comes with three small pieces of different cheese. After I ate, I felt like I needed another meal. Between the 30 min between my app and getting my entree, and the still feeling hungry, I wouldn't be coming back.

Every dish was perfection. I had the cauliflower soup, and the pappardelle with short rib ragu. Portions were perfect. Loved every bite. The wine was also great and reasonably priced. Desserts were outstanding as well. Highly recommend. Wouldn’t go anywhere else if I’m ever in Hallowell again.

Small boutique restaurant. I would say beautiful rustic Italian with a bit of French provincial. Everything we tried was excellent the pear salad and the clam pasta were standouts, the gnocchi was on another level, nice continental wine list. Excellent service.Vegetarian options: Several appetizers and pastas, there was only one entrée the night we went it was beef.

A real gem. Intimate (just a few tables). Been twice and both times rates among the best meals we've had since moving to Maine a year ago. Intriguing wine list.

Came for my birthday and had an amazing meal! This is far and beyond one of the best meals I’ve had in Maine, definitely the best pasta (besides what my grandmother makes ?). The house-made focaccia was an excellent compliment to our drinks, the wine list is unique and has something for everyone. We really enjoyed the short rib ragu and the carbonara. For the quality and freshness off the food, the prices are more than fair and the portions are perfect. We will definitely be making the drive up from Auburn again!

One of the best pasta places I’ve eaten at — worth every penny! Great wine selection, perfect atmosphere, and the whole team is a delight. We will be back!!
