Most reviews are from a few years ago with the exception of 3 or 4, so maybe things have declined recently. We went there specially for their lobster rolls and came away very disappointed. We called ahead to place the order. When we arrived the rolls hadn’t been made. After a short wait we got our order and left. The lobster rolls were tasteless, soggy, and had a few strands of hair in them. Not what we expected for the money we paid. Hope this was an odd occurrence and 2025 gets off on the right foot.

I had an excellent experience at Hallowell Seafood! The gentleman behind the counter was a riot and he honored my ridiculously old gift certificate. We got a bunch of great food and ate like kings! Thanks again!

I ordered two hard shell cooked lobsters, waited 45 minutes, drove home and one was hard shell and the other one definitely was not and fell apart with my fingers, ity bity meat in it. Service was kind and delivered on time when promised

Fresh seafood and a wide assortment of fresh veggies, wines and many other items for creating the prefect meal.
We fell in love with this place with their overly enthusiastic and personable customer service and selection, then have grown to realize over the last year that we have been consistently overcharged on average 20-30 dollars as a result of sketchy point of sale. Who uses an adding machine and then asks do you want an itemized receipt? This doesn't add up - pun intended - the items are not listed by item and price even if you receive a receipt - just a bunch of prices listed from the adding machine - things often don't add up so BEWARE. Check out other reviews on Google and Yelp and Trip Advisor that mention sketchy point of sale practice - this is a pattern. The Better Business Bureau or some other watchdog group should make them replace the adding machine with a real register that protects consumers and matches items and price and lists agreed upon scale weights.
