Traveling through Maine from Ohio. Saw Slates mentioned in a Maine tourist magazine. Met friends here and were totally impressed with the special menu. Our waiter, Michael, was the BEST. He shared with us the story of how the restaurant began and other interesting background information. The food was delicious. If we were going to be in the area longer we would definitely make it there again.

The food was incredible, the dessert was perfect, the service was great. It's definitely loud in there but the food makes it so worth it. I love the eclectic art all over the place, the hand painted tables, the plant life, the beautiful lamps, the beams upstairs. The whole package!!

Saw this place and popped in cause I’m always gonna be curious about a bakery. Was not expecting it to be tiny store front and I was kinda taken aback about how messy the displays were covered in plastic wrap. So I’m not sure if everything was baked fresh this day.
Service was fine.
I made a panic purchase and grabbed a blueberry oatmeal cookie and it was one of the best oatmeal cookies I’ve had. I wished I had grabbed. Couple.

We had an excellent meal. Waitress right from the get go was not friendly. No smile. Just a job for her. When asked for drinks, i asked for ice water with a lemon. I was given a glass with lemon to add to my water on table. No ice. I like to be paid attention to just like those asking and receiving an alcoholic beverage.
When i got to eat my leftovers tonight, there was NO sauce which there was plenty when she boxed it. Very disappointed. This waitress was not pleasant.

Everyone loves Slate's - it's definitely worth going once, but not if you're looking for lighter entrees. The food is primarily served with heavy sauces, making it difficult to taste the actual food. The servers are friendly, but it's always busy so they're kind of an a rush.

Daily specials menu viewable on Facebook. Amazing frosted cookies for dessert. Small garden seating with live music creates a intimate cozy atmosphere. Well worth the trip.

My husband and I were in recently and the best part of our meal was our server. The food was meh. My fish tacos were very soggy and fell apart. My husband ordered the pasta dish. It was so white as if made with all purpose flour and so overcooked it was not at all al dente and flavorless. Sadly, we won't be returning.
My favorite place to stop for an awesome, healthy lunch! 5 stars all the way

Went here for the first time last weekend. We did not know that they take reservations, but they were very accommodating and were able to serve us. The food was fantastic! my wife and I both got different versions of their eggs Benedict with home fries and we got the cinnamon roll for our son, everything was excellent! Very reasonably priced too!
