Oh man, this place is overwhelmingly good! They have something for everyone! Also, their portions are huge, and the gentlemen at the window was so helpful and friendly! I had the gimme s'mores. It was delicious 😋 Worth the stop. Highly recommend.
Great little spot for a scoop! Dairy free options as well.
Last couple of times I've come was not the greatest. The girls don't seem to be very attentive to the order I've placed now 2 different times. I ordered a large with strawberry cheesecake, and banana cream pie. I was met with more of one flavor than the other the first time (like maybe one scoop of strawberry cheesecake and 3 of banana cream pie) . This time, I ONLY got strawberry cheesecake when I had ordered the exact same as last time. I had zero clue thinking maybe the last scoop in the cone was maybe the Banana cream pie, but I was rather upset to find the opposite. Mind you I've been coming here and showing support the last couple years, but I'm not thrilled with my experience with consistent mess ups the last two times I've come in the past 2 weeks. I understand you're all only human, but it is important to also have attention to detail and thoroughly listen to the customer.
I'm glad I saw this in Google. Good place, good ice cream and funny staff. They have some amazing concoctions that are just under $9. My wife did the salty caramel in a cup, and I did their maple one on a waffle cone. It's one of the best tasting waffle cones I've had. They give you enough ice cream to loosen up one notch on the belt when you're done. What a good local gem to have in this area.
Scooped right in and got a loaded sugar cone treat of butter pecan ice cream- huge serving.. loved it and pleasant surrounding
This ice cream shop, run by a team of amazing teenage girls, is an absolute gem! The flavors are unique, the vibe is full of energy and creativity, and the service is warm and welcoming. You can tell they pour passion into every scoop. It's not just a treat — it's an inspiring experience. Support local, support future leaders — and enjoy some of the best ice cream around!
Highly recommend! 🌟
Unfortunately had a bad experience at the Local Scoop today... First time customers and won't be back. I ordered the Strawberry Fields Forever sundae and my sundae came missing 3 out of 5 extras... when brought to their attention, they still missed 2 out of 5 toppings while remaking. They also serve Giffords ice cream - no sign stating this - and we aren't fans of overpaying for grocery store quality ice cream. Big miss - hope they do better next time!
We unfortunately went when a bunch of flavors were out of stock but if you go when they’re freshly stocked there’s lots of different flavors and options. They have a lot of fun specials too.
A must try. The maple ice cream was incredible

I have been following the local scoop on Instagram for a couple years but had never actually gone until a few days ago. It’s in downtown Hallowell and has a nice patio so you can sit and enjoy your treats or go for a walk. They had the cutest treats for little ones, a unicorn and Dino themed ice cream both reasonably sized and priced. The staff was so friendly, everything was wonderful. We will definitely be back!
