Scenic waterfront spot on Orr's Island for laid-back outdoor dining or meals to go. Chowders, seafood, sandwiches, wraps, chips, deserts, drinks, merch and more. The waterfront dining location of Salt Cod Cafe makes this a FIVE STAR stop!

The only game in town for a close breakfast when staying on Orr's Island. The homemade bread and scones are so awesome.

The lobster roll wasn’t impressive, but the clam chowder was outstanding and the scones were out of this world!!!! I’ve never had such scrumptious, & delicate scone! If we ever go back to Maine, Salt Cod Cafe will be my #1 destination.

We have been going to the Salt Cod for several years. You can't beat the strawberry rhubarb pie and the baked goods. This time we stopped for a quick sandwich on the way to cedar beach. The sandwiches took an exceptionally long time- seems that although we were before a lot of parties they got their food first. My husband ordered the lobster crunch roll and it was tiny for $29 and the bacon was the premade kind you get in a box. My crab roll was also tiny so it was a good thing that our kids didn't finish a cup of chowder or turkey sandwich. $75 for these 4 items and chips... we will be back for just the pie.

We've visited the Salt Cod Cafe on many trips to Bailey Island. Only open for breafast and lunch, we stop there every visit. Good food, and they don't even charge for the beautiful views.

Great little place to grab a really good pastry or sandwich.

Stopped by for a quick breakfast after an early morning hike. The location of this café is amazing. The scones are not to be skipped--I've honestly never had a better scone. The breakfast sandwich was alright, nothing special. My main issue with this establishment was the staff. It seemed that everyone working here is a teenager. While I commend them for spending their summers working, leaving them without an actual adult may not be the best idea. They were polite with customers, but when there was no one in line ordering (a couple of us were waiting for our orders) they began ridiculing and mocking customers they had dealt with earlier, replaying conversations they'd had with them in a condescending tone. Afterward, they began complaining about the lack of tips. I've worked in the food industry and understand that some customers can be difficult to deal with, but behaving in the way they were in front of customers is not appropriate.

Got there around 10 AM for breakfast and the selection was limited ( my fault for not getting up earlier!) Scones were delicious. Nice outside seating area to watch the boats and ocean.

Right at the bridge, connected to H2Outfitters on Orr's Island. What a gem. Patient staff, excellent food, reasonable prices, and a great place outside to catch up on your appetite or pack a picnic to go. The staff was helpful, courteous, and efficient. And the view was excellent. It's a quiet, unremarkable, yet utterly remarkable spot that makes coastal Maine Maine. Delicious, great offerings, excellent.

If you can find better baked goods, LMK! Old fashioned, Maine experience. It sings SBX, so when they're busy, you'll wait. No big deal.

Had some delicious lemon and blueberry scones that were some of the best I have had. Lovely view while eating. Had the lobster roll combo...the chowder was very good however the lobster roll was not. Barely any lobster they measure in a little Dixie cup and the roll was stale. Not what I expected for $36. Go to Morses in Harpswell instead. Would recommend the baked goods though.

Lovely food, very very expensive if you're not used to Maine prices. Lobster roll and chowder combo $36.

Lobster is expensive, so if you are only going to splurge a couple of times, this is not the place to do it.

Lovely, homey, local vibe. We love the muffins, scones and pies! Sandwiches, too! Draws a crowd on weekend mornings. Nice, honest, un-spoiled mom-and-pop operation providing homebaked goodness in everything they offer.

This is THE place to get breakfast on Bailey and Orrs. They are open seasonally and do get very busy at the height of summer, so don't wait too long to grab food in the morning.A local woman makes all the baked goods and I honestly have never had a pastry there that I didn't like. That being said, the cinnamon scones are my favorite. The breakfast sandwiches are also tasty. There is a dock along the backside of the cafe with ocean views and seating. All around great place.
