The most magical dinner experience. An absolutely beautiful setting accompanied by an incredible menu. Still thinking about the cherry soufflé.

It is pre-fixe for $175 or $250 per person. Something we didn’t realize before we sat at the table, but it was soooo worth it!

Had dinner at the “Little Barn” tonight. Really disappointing experience. They straight up forgot our entire first round of drinks (they comped them it was that long). Dinner went on and they forgot drinks from our second round as well. Food was so bang average. Salmon legitimately had 0 seasoning or marinade. Steak was flavorless as well. Overall super disappointing experience from an expensive night out.

Waiter was miserable and we could not have been more friendly. He would not smile no matter what we said or did.

Skipping ahead - the desserts were out of this world. We had one of each and couldn’t settle on which one was best. The whole experience was fantastic. If you can, sit at the table in the middle of the room with a view of the garden through the large window.

I dined outside on the terrace for lunch. I ordered the lobster roll that came with delicious french fries and a watermelon martini recommended by the wonderful waitress Brittany! The food was absolutely incredible. Probably the best lobster roll I’ve ever had.

We were looking forward to dining here but unfortunately we were very disappointed. We ordered the Peeky Toe Crab appetizer along with the Lobster Bisque for appetizers. The crabmeat was just average but it had a nice presentation. Lobster Bisque was lukewarm with cold lobster meat garnish. Wife had the Tea Smoked Duck and I had the Butter Poached Lobster. Duck was nothing to write home about and the Lobster entree was cold and lacked flavor. This usually happens when a lobster is over cooked which I feel could have happened. Dessert menu was uninspiring, mostly Mousses and ice cream but our server suggested a chocolate opera cake which was not on the menu. Nice of her to offer but when it arrived it was a Tiramisu Cake dressed up to look like a something else. Service was good. Overall underwhelming experience maybe it was the Executive Chefs night off.

The White Barn Inn offers an unforgettable experience that truly dazzles! With its warm and inviting ambiance, mouthwatering culinary creations, and top-notch service, every moment feels special. The staff, especially Peter and Sophia, went above and beyond to make our 3-hour dining adventure incredibly comfortable and thoroughly enjoyable. We can’t wait to return and share this gem with our friends and family!

Everyone should eat here once. We did the 8 course tasting and it had some highs and lows; the tuna crudo was excellent but a few of the flashier dishes didn’t quite land. Still, the service is incredible, and all the little flourishes made it an excellent night

By far our most disappointing meal of the week in Kennebunk ! I desperately wanted to love this - we had just arrived (half the family from UK , half from Canada) and were in the mood for a local, short drive, posh sit down dinner. I picked the restaurant and wanted to impress everyone. The establishment is beautiful. Drinks were ok , at best. Food … where to begin ? The smoked fish dip we got for starters was not memorable - served with stale chips which broke before scooping anything. For mains, half of us got the lobster roll - a garish pickle, a shovel of unseasoned fries and half a fistful of overly buttered lobster - not even half a lobster. The roll was sweet and, with the ridiculously small portion of lobster, overpowered every bite. It was the first of our week, the most expensive by far, and a true disappointment. The rest of the table got the Bouillabaisse - again, overpriced, extremely cheap on the “fresh seafood” portions with a total of three knuckle sized lobster bits ? Save yourself the hassle - ANY road side snack bar offers a better interpretation of above dishes and won’t charge 100$+ per person for it. Service was ok, but surely not sufficient to salvage the experience. I was very tempted to book the tasting menu but so glad we sampled to “casual” option first.

The Little Barn Inn for lunch was one of the most disappointing meals I have ever had. The menu is fabulous, creative, and enticing, but the execution was horrible for a restaurant of this caliber.

The deviled eggs were forgettable. They were as bland as the ones your aunt made for covered-dish dinners at church. They needed salt, and the parmesan crisps were soggy.

The turmeric-pickled cauliflower starter was almost inedible. The cauliflower seemed to have been quick-pickled, and the only significant taste was vinegar, which was so strong it nearly choked us both.

These first two dishes destroyed our whole experience here. We had studied the menu beforehand and were looking forward to a great lunch that would be a test meal for the dinner we hoped to have a few nights later.

The asparagus and wild ramp soup with creme frais was a deep green delight, except it was warm, not hot.

The white fish cream dip was good but contained chunks of cream cheese and felt rushed.

The small lobster Cobb salad felt thrown together, with large lettuce pieces, and the lobster's texture was wrong.

We wanted to love this place, but it was deeply disappointing. The wallpaper in the foyer was stunning, the main barn dining room was rustic and warm, and the service was attentive and understanding. Things should be much better at this high level of dining at this price point.

A couple of days later, we had the deviled eggs we were expecting at a modest little restaurant on the beach.

I grew up playing in my grandmother's barn of exactly the same size so I felt very comfortable in this space. When they feed you before you've ordered you know they take things seriously. The pride they took in service was outstanding as was their seemless teamwork among those who do the service. The most plesantly surprising rendition of carrot cake I have ever had. Our waistaff helped create the fun of the evening, entirely warm and on it.

Fine. Very Fine. An exceptional experience for dining. Mood, music, service and the Blind Tasting Menu are legendary. We ended our night at The Piano. Tom Snow was entertaining the room and sharing his mastery of music. Thank you.
