We have eaten at Ocean several times in the past few years for special occasions, as it is usually a fabulous experience with a special ambiance and nicely prepared meals, expertly presented. However, something this past Saturday evening, during our visit with friends to celebrate my wife's birthday things were off. While it all started off fine, it went downhill after the appetizer course was served. The staff was great upon arrival and gave us a complimentary sparkling wine to acknowledge the birthday. The amuse bouche was delicious as was the salad. However, the dinner itself took very long to come out of the kitchen( arrived at 6.30 pm and check came just after 9 pm) and while we enjoy a relaxed pace of service, this was exceptionally slow. When food did come out to the table, the plates appeared to have been under a heat lamp for quite some time as any sauces were congealed. Some dishes were garnished with some nuts that were extremely hard and one feared cracking a tooth if eaten. I had the duck breast which seems to have been microwaved given its grey color and absence of any crispiness to the skin. The chestnut puree had a skin on top which must have been the heat lamp affect. It pains me to write this review as we love Ocean. We hope this was just an off night for the kitchen. I have rated Ocean 5 stars in the past, but not this time.

Just went for cocktails and bites from the Veranda menu. It was pretty windy outside, so they let us sit in the living room. But we still had an incredible view of the ocean at sunset! The drinks and food were amazing. I loved the Thyme 75 and the deviled eggs (perfect smokey paprika and crispy shallots). It was quiet and not crowded during the off-season. The service was perfect. Attentive and kind, but let us enjoy our quiet time with the waves. We will definitely be back!

As world-traveling'foodies', I can honestly say that Ocean remains one of our favorite places to dine. The ambience is lovely and both the food and service are always excellent.
Our first time dining at Ocean. We were seated promptly. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxing. Our server Nick was the best. Good on conversation, great with explaining the menu and paced our courses . We had a nice, leisurely dinner and every course was delicious. We will return.

We must have gotten a bad waitress on a bad night. Food and ambiance was the best but we were provided very slow service. Almost 45 minutes between courses even we were finished. No personal attention at all.
