I came in and sat down just now at an empty bar and the two people behind the counter chatted with each other after looking at me. When one came over I ordered a beer and instead of pouring it she went in the back and started talking to a coworker. I was here for 5 minutes and never even got a water. Just listened to bartenders chat.

I wonder if this was my favorite place to eat in 1965 when I was a 18 year old sailor stationed at Cutler Navy Base. I often enjoyed "dates" with local girls and before or after a movie or stroll, we would enjoy dinner here. It looks to be in about the right spot. I have fond memories. At 18 yo I and my date were served wine with our lobster. A big deal in those days. Lobster was cheaper than a hamburger. How cool is that?

The Anchor has a low key vibe to it. The staff is friendly and will make you laugh on occasion. I have savored their food and can say that I have NEVER had a meal there that wasn't delightful. They also have many activities. Live music, pool, theme nights and so much more!

Its ok for a bar just starting out in the area. However, I do think it's pretty pricey for a bar just starting out in the area. The food is ok but nothing great and to me not worth the overall price tag. People are nice, service and atmosphere overall is also great.Parking: Small parking lot hard to maneuver in but you can park on the street too.Wheelchair accessibility: It is very wheelchair accessible.

Spent the night in machias with family. We 're here for lunch and was invited back for a surprise birthday for one of the band members. We came back and throughout the afternoon we spent about 300 dollars (lunch, then cocktails later). One of our members had to go do and errand and asked the if He could get back in, the guy told him he had to pay a 10 dollar cover charge to get back in. They missed out on any more of our money. We gave the waitress a nice tip ,sadly we all left. If we ever stay in machias again we will definitely come back. A lot of nice folks in this town.
Piss poor excuse for a restaurant, pot smoking in the restroom, my food was cold. Not was what it showed on the website. Never to return or recommend.

The fellow patrons were eager to make conversation and everyone was super friendly and accommodating to make sure a good time was had by all. Absolutely recommend to make it a stop even if you're not directly in the area, worth the travel. Tops any place around, we will definitely be back.

I am from NY and its hard to impress me with pizza but OMG the pizza is delicious. I have had appetizers, wings and quesadillas there and they were all delicious. Service was friendly and accommodating.
