I have never gone online and written a review, this is my first time. I live to the south of portland but I drive by anania’s on my way to and back from work.
You won’t find a better pizza/sandwhich shop around here, they don’t make stores like Anania’s anymore. Just an excellent atmosphere.
The staff and I believe the owner(not sure) are obviously great people, go to this store, support this place!

So, I discovered this place as I was working on a building down the street. When I passed Anania's for the first time on washington avenue I could just tell that was going to be my lunch spot for the duration of the job. They definitely did not disappoint! Fresh ingredients, friendly staff, pretty good prices, the variety store has a decnent selection. It seems to be always busy however, I never wait more than five or ten minutes for my sandwiches. The staff is really friendly and after just a couple chicken salad sandwiches, it's like we're old friends. Everything i've ordered from them has been excellent. The place has been there for years. And they are doing something right! When i'm in town, I try and make it a point to get my sandwich. They also have excellent sweets such ascinnamon rolls and scones. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu

The food is pretty good but very very overpriced for a run down dirty store. The cooks don’t wear gloves and for that reason I don’t eat there anymore.

Did not use gloves when preparing my sandwich with ready to eat ingredients, including the bread. Didn't have time for a remake as I was on a 30 min work lunch break. For over 30 dollars for 2 drinks 1 side of fried pickles and 1haddock sandwich, I'd at least expect you to not palm my food with your bare hands. Will not be coming back. Order was placed 1215pm June 15th 2026, a male with brown hair prepared it working the fryer and grill. I have included a photo of him taking out trash. Now I'm wondering if he washes his hands or not before returning to work? Also he has his apron on while outside taking out trash. That's a health code violation.and as I was writing this review you wouldn't believe but another employee came out side with his apron on as well. You guys are dangerous and disgusting

The young woman who took my phone order for a chicken salad wrap was great. However, the sandwich proved absolutely inedible due to the HUGE amount of mayonnaise.You couldn't even taste the chicken, pickles, peppers, or cheese. It was vile. I called, and she offered to remake it. Unfortunately, I was headed to an important doctor's appointment and could not backtrack to get a new sandwich.

This place is awesome , I happened to be in the area for lunch and ordered an Italian for myself and a small pizza for my 81 year old dad.. both were delicious, fresh ingredients, packed Italian and super pizza, my dad was in heaven ,. Hard working crew friendly and you can tell everyone from the neighborhood goes there and all the workers too. Just an awesome little place of hard working people , and they did a great job managing the work flow. It was super packed and they were pushing orders out fast !

It’s me the Spanish guy . I got a becon cheeseburger and I asked for it to be well done and it’s was AMAZING each bite made u want to take a bigger bite and made with perfection. I would definitely recommend coming here for ur breakfast and lunch needs . Very awesome ppl and very good service and clean place and great energy when u walk in . As a New Yorker born n raised I give this store all stars across the board. PERIOD 🫡❤️💪💪💪💪
I’m very sad that the one near the airport shutdown, me and my fiancé unknowingly went there before they closed down as we went to the airport and was VERY happy with it. Tried going back, and they’re closed!
None the less, found this one and was again very happy with what we had! Great selection of everything, plenty of sodas, and drinks. Plenty of snacks and treats. Also they have their own whoopie pies, pizza, and a large menus of hot foods to order.
The guy making our Italians was very kind, asking about our travels and such. Very good service, happy with pricing, will be back, I hope they are here to meet my post flight munchies again! And thanks to the wonderful staff that helped up.

This is a great store when you need something quick, whether that be snacks or actual food. Tried a bit of everything food-wise. Great lobster roll, calzones, pizza, sandwiches. Honestly, all of it was great and very reasonably priced. And the staff is so friendly. We talked the entire time they were preparing the food, and since I’m new in town they welcomed me to the neighborhood and were very kind about answering my questions. I could definitely see myself popping over for a quick bite when I don’t feel like cooking, probably on a regular basis. I highly recommend this store to anyone wanting convenient and great food options.
