Anoche might just be one of Portland’s best-kept secrets in the drinking scene. We’ve been a handful of times now, and every visit leaves us asking the same thing: “Why don’t we come here more often?!” Inspired by Spain’s Basque Country, this place is a total gem.

If you’re into vermouths and ciders, Anoche is non-negotiable. If not, no worries. They’ve got plenty of gins, beers, and cocktails as well. The vermouth menu is ridiculously impressive, with options from all over Europe. The food is also a must. The smoked fish spread we tried recently was phenomenal, and the sourdough it came with was perfect. They also have pintxos (small Spanish bites) and I can’t wait to work my way through more of them.

The space itself is stunning — easily one of the most beautiful interiors in Portland. From the moment you step through the beautiful wooden doors, you’re greeted by vibrant colors and thoughtful details that make you feel like you’ve been whisked away to another place entirely.

We’re big fans of Anoche and can’t recommend it enough!

Spectacular! So excited to be able to get amazing vermuts! The house olives were also spectacular and the charcuterie board ?. Can’t wait to be back!

First of all, this review is coming from a 76 y/o who took his 74 y/o sister to dinner here because she likes ciders. We're both pretty avid restaurant goes having lived in Chicago (me) and the DC area (her). We were twice as old as anyone else in the restaurant and had to ask that the music be turned down (which they gladly did). Told you we were old. I go to restaurants to eat food I have not had before or that is too complicated for me to make well. Service was very good, friendly and knowledgeable. My sister tried two of the ciders (out of around 40?) and these were not your typical US ciders. Very dry and made with various other ingredients. She did not like them. My suggestion would be that Anoche add some more traditionally tasting ciders and highlight them as such. The Spanish white that I had was great as I knew it would be. The tuna and mackerel were out of a can and the cod was dried and flaked. I can do that at home. The cheeses and the Iberico ham are the dishes that I would recommend. The bread was very good. This would be a very good, fun restaurant if you are say 35 and younger. Have a few drinks, eat some snacks and talk with your friends or sig. other.

Such a cool place. Creative and tasty food served in a very relaxed atmosphere by a friendly and helpful staff. They also have a large selection of ciders to complement your meal. If I lived in the area, this would be one of my go to places.

Anoche is such a cool bar, I am so glad that I stopped in. It looks like a fancy high end bar inside while keeping a laid back feel to it. The cider menu is massive and they have other options for those not as adventurous(try the boozy shakes!). Jessie the bartender is worth the visit by herself. She’ll become your best friend and if you give her kola nuts from next door it’ll speed up the process. I highly recommend Anoche!

So much gratitude for Anoche, Erica, and team! The best vibes, delicious drinks, and tasty food. A staple for this town.

Plus, they hosted our wedding after party and were simply the most accommodating and fun venue.

The different ciders were great. Ask how to serve the cider, isnt a usual serve. The beers and wine were great to as well as the spanish tapas and the staff was very amicable.
