This review is for the tire center. For some reason they wouldn't take an appointment online so I called and left two voicemails no return call. Called third time someone answered and I made the next available appointment for 5 days later. An hour before my appointment time I got a phone call saying they overbooked so they would have to cancel and that someone would call me the next morning to reschedule my appointment. No one called to reschedule, two days later I called and they told me the next available appointment was a week and a half later. Terrible communication from start to finish, no response to phone calls or emails, no apologies... They could not care less. Would give zero stars since they did nothing for me.

Over the last year I have found many items at the Portland, ME BJ's are a different price than marked when they are rung up at the register. Each time I have seen this, I call for help and a supervisor comes by. Every time I have been told "it's a mistake" and then am given a credit for the difference. It always just says "credit" on the receipt and it doesn't say for what. The mistakes always go in one direction....up. In my estimate, because of this, these are not random mistakes. I am sort of a hawk on prices. I wonder how many less observant customers miss the mistakes and I wonder how much this would add up for the store each day. The potential loss by "inadvertently" overcharged customers could be very, very substantial. Watch your prices with the utmost care when at their registers.

This place is out of everything. I understood it during the height of COVID. But all the other stores around have their normal inventory- not BJs though. Been months. Sad.

This branch doesn't seem as busy as the one we went to in Florida, or perhaps even as busy as this location used to be. That includes the gas pumps as well. I guess that is good for me but maybe not so good for them. Otherwise the store is very similar to what I am used to as far as selection and service. If you are familiar with them and are considering whether to become a member, the plus is that you can save a lot of money on some items, but not all. Back in Florida some items were less expensive at Aldi's;'s, but there are no Aldi's here in Maine. SO what we buy here easily pays more than the cost of membership. The gas is cheaper than most stations, though a station right down the street tries to compete with it, Not much more to say than that.

Great customer service, polite friendly associates. I don’t think I have ever seen the paper goods isles so empty!!

Decided to get out of the house and do a little shopping at BJs. We needed a few things and have found the BJs doesn't have a long lines. Anyway, I needed a propane tank conifer and some deli products. I was able to find everything I needed and even picked up a couple of items I didn't think I needed. You know how that goes. Enjoy!

This place is awesome.....if you know how to use it. You must know your prices. Just because it's a warehouse doesn't mean it's cheaper. That being said, I've been a member for over 20 years and have always felt I've gotten my monies worth. Just the gas savings alone make a membership worthwhile. Love the meat department. Always by my coffee here. I have 2 TV's both from Bj's. One of them was too big to fit in my car so I bought it online and the delivery was free!

Decent while sale store/vendor. I used to get candy and sundries, for the school store I ran from here. They have a decent tire section. If you like bulk items than your in luck. Most everything is a name brand however. So if your a bargain shopper you might not get the deals your looking for. They used to offer a 10 percent discount for cash purchases, however I am not sure if that is still in effect. You do have to have a membership to shop here and get the full discount though. If not you might be able to get a day pass to try it out. Most people get the Membership for the gas prices which is often a good saving. The membership fee is not too bad. They have a full store of options and if your techy you can download the app log in and shop away on line for better and bigger savings. If you like bulk items and it's close enough to you go for it. If not maybe look elsewhere.

A big Box Store is a Big box Store, you know hat you are getting. As for their customer service, the staff in the store are wonderful and friendly, BUT if you ever have to go into the garage area, and God forbid, you need a propane tank filled, the staff are down right rude, condescending and mean. Last summer, complained, to the store manager, about the customer service and the attitude of the garage employees, only to be told, "Yes, he has a bad attitude" and laughed. Well, I went back again to get 2 propane tanks filled and the employee never spoke one word to me. He reached out his hand beckoning for my membership card. I laid it on the counter. He picked it up, scanned it and then threw it back on the counter. I put my CC in the reader, he ripped my receipt apart and passed it to me, only to turn around and walk away. As a business owner, I think long and hard before ever posting a negative post, but after this happening more than once, I thought I needed to do so.

In a natural food enforcing, vegetarian household, BJs’ strives to provide more NATURAL, ORGANIC and VEGAN offerings are really appreciated! The produce isle is gorgeous and rich, there are many vegan ‘meats’, animal free ‘dairy’ products and non-GMO or organic frozen and shelf-stable items. And the sales and coupons... grand! (Even my computer glasses are from BJs Optic!) I am continuously impressed with the way BJs is listening to us! WELL PLAYED , BJs Portland! Well played

Your customer service in the tire department SUCKS! I go there every Saturday morning to refill 2, sometimes 3, propane tanks. I am usually treated like I'm a distraction as a customer, but the tanks do get refilled. This morning I stood in your waiting area for 20 minutes. No acknowledgement that I was there, even though I know I was seen, no nothing. So, I left. I understand that your employee was working alone, and that's your fault as management to let someone work alone. It is also, however, poor customer service to not take care of a customer standing in your store ready to pay cash on the spot.
