We had Dirty Fries for the first time tonight. The flavor from the Sloppy Joe meat combined with a full bodied cheddar cheese made for one of the best appetizers I have ever had. The pickled onions topped off this very tasty dish. We will be back for more.

Extremely good burgers and milkshakes. Everything was cooked to perfection truly, and the fries were extra salty just the way I like them. I ordered a regular cheeseburger with large fries, and they came out so fast with the rest of my companies orders. The location was also extremely intriguing, too, as it was inside of an old building, so it felt like it gave the restaurant even more character. I cannot wait to go back in the near future. It is truly a recommended restaurant for a beautiful spot!

Eh. Nothing special. Really sub par burger. Not really a smash burger, and the sauce was kinda just like a mustard. Not great.

Wanted to try this place while visiting Portland, so opted to grab a burger as an app, prior to dinner. So glad I did, a simple quick cheeseburger and fry order at the bar was just enough. The burger is of the smash burger variety and extremely tasty, which a good amount of fat as evident from the juices falling onto the plate, was one of the top 5 smashed burgers I’ve had on the east coast, will definitely return here again on my next visit. As far as the fries, not my style and I would skip them next time. Too greasy and crispy, if that’s possible, with little potato bite, just air and fry

Great hamburger. I grew up in grass-fed cattle country, so I'm picky about my beef. I also like a simple burger. This was a good burger, and the smash sear brought out a perfect umami. Added the heirloom tomato to mine - very good. Hubby was very happy with the mushroom Swiss burger, and noted this is a place he would return. Relaxed, upbeat, friendly vibe.

Avoid this place. This is McDonald's. Same fries, same meat, same sauce, same containers. Just awful.

Yum! We stopped by here after walking around the city for a while and it was exactly what we needed. If you craving a good more upscale diner burger then this is where to come. We got the cheeseburgers and fries and red ale. The fries were fine. The burgers were delicious. They had lots of flavor and were fresh. Overall, the Black Cow is worth coming to if you want burger.

Hands down the best burgers in town. Everything is so delicious and fresh. I usually get the cheese burger with double patty, add a slice of heirloom tomato and a side of fresh cut fries and oh my goodness you have yourself an amazing meal. We've been back several times. They're also really nice to dogs. We brought our pup and we sat outside on the cute patio overlooking the park.
We normally come on Sundays when Portland is more quiet and there's free parking on the street. We've been lucky to find parking right across the street.

We had a delicious mushroom burger and Caesar salad. The burger was so flavorful and fresh. And the ice cream, which is made in house, was super good too! Plus they had an amazing staff! If we make it back to Portland I would make it a point to return.

If you want a nice greasy burger and extra stuff you didn’t order, this is the place for you!! Paid $71 for 2 people for lunch and ended up getting 3 separate burgers. Called the order in and said 2 burgers.

Great spot that prides itself on making their food from scratch. I had a bacón cheese burger with fries. The fries were more like shoestring fries. Not my favorite but not bad nonetheless. I had a lovely cocktail as well. Very affordable spot when you have a hankering for a good burger.. Would definitely return.
