What a find for my small party of three. A crafted pub menu in a quiet, comfortable basement very much reminiscent of a speakeasy. Several local brews on tap, and we went straight for smashburgers and fries - the BLT smashburger was quite good. Attentive service, prompt delivery, we kinda hated to leave. Note: hidden side entrance, the basement below Roma.

I've been coming here for more than 20 years. I had the worst experience this evening. The bartenders were inattentive and spent more time talking amongst themselves than tending to the patrons. When my friend and I ordered drinks, we waited close to 15 minutes for one of them to be made. We finally said to forget it and asked for the bill I was not about to tip the staff for such horrible service. Your short, stalky bartender had the nerve to ask why we didn't tip. When we told her that one of our drinks was forgotten, we received no apology. Instead we got attitude!! Really!? Your bartenders need some customer service training. Quite frankly, they were all rude, dismissive and gave off a very unwelcomimg vibe. Completely disappointed.

Used to go here quite frequently but hadn’t been in a few years. Not sure what happened but this place kind of sucks now. The food was bland. The drinks were ok for the most part. But the service was just horrible - really passive aggressive and just weird vibes. We had to wait 20 minutes just to order our first drink and the place wasn’t even half full. Like everyone else has mentioned the music is garbage too. The one thing this place still has going is the atmosphere, it’s dark and intimate. It’s almost still worth going just for that but honestly I’ll probably just wait for a new place to go in when they inevitably close. Plenty of other options.

Bramhall is always buzzing on Sunday evenings, and that’s largely thanks to Anna and one of the male servers.
Anna keeps the whole night running smoothly by hosting trivia with real warmth and professionalism. She gives the Portland community something genuinely fun to look forward to every Sunday, all while staying calm, relaxed, and polite.
The gentleman server deserves a lot of credit as well. He takes care of nearly every customer — especially the trivia host — and he’s constantly on the move, serving meals, checking in, and making sure people are looked after. He’s served me many times and always checks how I’m doing. Unfortunately, he ends up taking on far more responsibility than he should because his two colleagues don’t seem as engaged.
One of those co‑workers, in particular, doesn’t appear to enjoy working in the restaurant industry at all. When she interacts with customers, she often sounds irritated or annoyed. On a Sunday evening in December 2025, she seated me, and when I thanked her, she just replied with a dismissive “mmmmm,” as if I’d inconvenienced her. We all have things going on in our private lives, but that doesn’t excuse that level of coldness in a customer‑facing role.

I have been to Bramhall several times, and my experience there has always been the same: the atmosphere is more than satisfactory, the drinks are delicious and reasonably priced, however the service is truly appalling.
