Not many bars in Portland stay open past 11, this one does. Besides some of the weirdos that you have to walk past to get in, I like they have someone at the door checking IDs because when my wife went out to smoke the bouncer kept the weirdos

My wife and myself visited this pub for lunch,and we were recommended to try the Lobster Bisque. My wife had this and when it arrived it was full of Lobster and other seafood ,and only cost 10$. I had the Hot Dogs (2 for 8$) The waitress came over several times to enquire as to our enjoyment of the food. We had just spent 14 days in Canada where the same Lobster Bisque was MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE, not to mention the Extra taxes on top of the ADVERTISED MENU PRICE. I would certainly use the Commercial Pub at any time in the future. The ambience is wonderful!!!

Great sports bar owned by a Nebraska native so we had a great time since we are from Nebraska and big Husker fans! Even got to meet the owner, John and his wife, and talked all things Husker football! Had some drinks and highly recommend!

We popped over here first for beers while waiting for a table at J’s. Came back later in the night because we’d spied the HD Big Buckhunter machine in the back and wanted to play. You are guaranteed interesting local flavor. Check out the verboten patron list on the wall.

Arrived to Portland and thought I'd stop in for introduction to beer in the area, the commercial pub sounded great the bar tender unfortunately couldn't serve me after 10min of waiting, he was falling around behind the helm if I could say it politely. Second time coming around the the lady took my order and returned 4min later and told me she refuses to serve me, this was my first beer of the night! Such a disappointment to something that could be much better! Unfortunately my experience wasn't good but atleast I never spent a dime either!!! Start to treat the tourists better! I'm traveling from South Africa and my second time in Portland.
