Lucas was incredible and really connected with us and made us feel welcomed! He was friendly and his service really made the experience great!

The food was outstanding, delicious and innovative. The noise level ruins the experience. It's deafening and almost impossible to talk even though we went early.

I would highly recommend Fore Street. We went there for our anniversary and we were welcomed with a personalized note as we sat down. The ambiance, service, and food were all excellent. It may be a little more expensive than some other restaurants but it is very much worth it. We reserved space in the bar area and thoroughly enjoyed it. The bartender was welcoming, courteous, and helpful with drink and food recommendations. We tried a few new things based on his recommendations and all them were cooked to perfection and delicious. Looking forward to a return visit next time we're in Portland.

fore street has been a go-to for decades for a reason. they do a really good job with what's fresh any time of year. had delicious beef, haddock and rabbit along with white beans and collared greens. great service and a lovely spot to camp out for a few hours on a cold january night.

Fore Street never disappoints. Their food is consistently amazing farm to table made fresh in their open concept kitchen. We are always in awe of their kitchen staff watching them put out dish after dish of delicious cuisine. Honestly, this is and has been my all time favorite restaurant since the first time we ate there in 2014.

Jesse was knowledgeable and helped us make our menu choices, including the right glasses of wine for our selections. Oysters were stupendous! I could not resist the special traditional steak tartare and I was happy I did not. The simple but flavorful preparation was a truly great appetizer. The roast chicken and lamb shoulder were delicious with the white beans with parm side. The creme brulee and the “stickey toffee” gingerbread were the perfect ending to our meal. The great service, hint of woodsmoke and talkable sound volume were all we needed for a perfect dinner.

This was for my 60th birthday and Fore Street and Sarah our waitress were amazing. The food is incredible and made with love. Can't wait to go back alone tonight. Sneaking in a last meal before heading home

Our server was spectacular and knew the menu inside and out. The food exceeded our expectations.

Service and ambience were excellent, but the food here is AVERAGE! Skate Wing entree tasted like the chef dumped a tablespoon of salt on top. I was flabbergasted. Other dishes were fine, nothing to write home about. It felt like the kitchen was resting on its laurels. Menu needs to be modernized, offerings were “clunky” as my dining companion stated, everything feels heavy, lacks finesse, flavors blend from one dish to the next. Aside from nearly perfect mussels, the overarching question was “what am I eating now?” Good luck getting through to reception on the phone - there doesn’t seem to be a direct connection to the host desk. And my sweater still smells like wood smoke.

We had an exceptional and unique charcuterie board. I loved the foie gras—a generous portion that just melted in my mouth. The pork belly was good, and the tongue was excellent and tender. We also ordered the potatoes in pork fat, which were good but fatty. The dessert, the butter scotch tart was decadent. In sum, every dish we ordered was excellent. Service was excellent.

Vibe is absolutely the best. Food and service was phenomenal and we were pleasantly surprised at the final bill. Always a must stop for me when I visit Portland. Can't wait to come back!

The wood fire aroma envelops you as soon as you enter the restaurant. There were many enticing items on the menu, which made choosing what to eat a pleasant challenge. The food did not disappoint. Everything was delicious. The only areas where we were a little disappointed were 1) timing - our entrees arrived moments after we got our appetizer; 2) willingness to make a simple substitution - we asked if an ice cream could be substituted with sorbet in a dessert due to a lactose issue. The wait staff said the head chef doesn't like to make substitutions. While we understand that approach in general, this was a simple change. However, this didn't dampen our resolve to return again.

Scallops were too salty and grit in 5 of 6. Rabbit was ordinary. Bread and mashed potatoes were sadly the highlight of the meal.

Food was ok but nothing like we were anticipating. We got thebsquidnwhich was tasty but very chewy. Not the kind of squid dish we are used to at a good restaurant. The veal appetizer was recommended by the waiter and was all bread and very little veal. We were very disappointed in the meal. I mentioned it and was brushed off. In fact, I mentioned it again and was still brushed off. Disappointed.
