Standard Baking Co. is one of those Portland spots that’s always worth stopping into. The breads and pastries are consistently excellent, everything feels fresh, and there’s usually something new to tempt you at the counter. It can get busy, but the quality makes it worth it. Definitely a great place to grab a pastry, loaf of bread, or something quick while you’re downtown.

The chocolate financier was an item I've never tried before. It's a mix of a cookie and a tart and I loved it. My plum frangipane tart was also divine and the lemon polenta cake was just plain good.
Come early, as I know they sell out and the line is long. I got lucky on a random Friday by being here at 10 PM but the line tripled before my eyes.
