breakfast items - an egg sandwich & a cinnamon roll. Both were phenomenal and probably some of the best food we ate while in town. Do not miss this place!“

“We wanted to check out both the new James Beard award winners while we were in Portland so after making it through the line at Norimoto we headed over to Zu. We got in line at 10:30 on a Saturday morning and made it to the front of the line in under 15 minutes. That was the good news, the bad news was that the only items available for purchase at that time were a brioche roll, a brownie, granola and a few wheat loafs. We purchased a brioche loaf and a bag of granola. Both were quite tasty but I was disappointed that there wasn't more on offer. They said that there would be scones and focaccia available in the next 20-45 minutes so it seems our timing was just bad. Street parking was easy to find and everyone working there was very friendly. Would happily give it another go if I lived in the area.“

“The donuts here were AMAZING. Easily the best donuts in town (I said what I said). They are made fresh to order and delish! I can’t speak as highly for the iced coffee - my friend ordered two and one had grinds in the bottom and chunky almond milk- the guy making it definitely noticed (he spent an extra minute stirring it and holding it up to the light) and still served it but he’s young so it may just be a training issue. We tossed the coffee after. Either way, it didn’t stop us from making a trip back the next day to get some donuts for the drive home- and eating some right away. I will be back for the donuts anytime I’m in town!“

“The croissants are amazing here. Worth every penny. And the strawberry rhubarb pastry was delicious. The cold brew wasn’t anything spectacular but it was better than what you’d get at places like Dunkin’. The chai latte was overpriced and very watery so that was disappointing. Parking is also ridiculous so that is a pain. If the drinks were better and it was less crowded it would get a 5 star. I would come back again though.

“I was excited to try a new breakfast sandwich but unfortunately it was a letdown. I got the sausage egg and cheese which came on a bland biscuit-muffin hybrid that had a strange texture. The sausage and cheddar cheese didn’t have much flavor and the whole thing was overpowered by a sauce that tasted like Japanese mayo. The slight sweetness of the roll and sauce with the lack of any other flavor made it hard to finish. I also got a muffin which was fine. Looking at other reviews and realizing everything is gluten free makes a lot more sense now, so I won’t disparage the muffin. It’s cool that people who need that sort of thing have an option but it’s not for me.“

“This was my favorite place to visit on our trip to Maine. When you walk in the door your olfactory senses are immediately satisfied and had me searching for a way to bottle up the smell and take it with me forever. The Whoopie Pies, Chocolate Dipped Whoopie Balls, Cookie Dough Balls and everything else was delicious. The owner was so nice and visited with us about our other trip destinations and even gave us a lunch recommendation for Alisson's Restaurant, which was also a very yummy place! Thank you!“

“Amazing cakes! This was my first time ordering from Two Fat Cats. I ordered a chocolate chocolate cake for my son’s birthday and everyone was really impressed! Flavorful and perfectly sweet (but not too sweet) frosting and dense, melt in your mouth cake. Highly recommend!“
