“Higher Grounds is the coolest store ever. My husband and I stopped in twice during our Portland stay from out of town. We bought a variety of THC products and found the prices reasonable and quality to be exceptional. It’s a calm and ambiant place free from judgement. “Absolutely exceptional experience for any foodie out there. Started off with the cherry sour cocktail which was spectacularly balanced - dry, sour, with the right amount of zing. The tuna crudo and scallop were truly stand out from the raw bar, the cabbage salad was flavorful with not too much dressing. For mains, the halibut and the smash burger were absolutely to die for. The halibut and a Marsala wine sauce and was perfectly crisped. The burger is cheese and delectable with triple fried fries, but also portioned such that it wasn’t overwhelming. This is NYC level food delivered in an incredible Portland vibe - everyone is friendly, welcoming, the restaurant itself is romantic and intimate. Would choose this dinner 1,000 times over.“

“I am the kind of person who scoffed at vanilla ice cream. I thought it was boring, plain, blah. So when I went to Zephyr Ice I had planned to ask if I could just get the shaved ice— no ice cream. I am so glad I didn’t do that. This is the best ice cream I have ever tasted, and the shaved ice of course was flawless. I can’t go often because of the distance, but whenever I do find myself near Portland, I dream of this place.“

“Walked into the Portland location at 7:57 on a Saturday when they close at 8:00 and they graciously served me, even though it was clear they had finished cleaning up for the night. I am a regular at the Scarborough commissary throughout the summer and this was my first time visiting the Portland location. The staff all said hello to me with a smile and conversation and had no problem packing a few rolls for me to go! Great staff and always consistent food!“

“Best food I ate in Portland all week (including upscale places) was the lobster bisque from Chef Ryan. Oysters were GREAT as well. Family friendly. Chef Ryan’s whole menu was top notch and the kitchen staff was so nice. Ty came up and offered to give my young kids a lobster lesson over FaceTime (was here for work). Lizzy was excellent at the bar for our group. Ashley was amazing and welcoming to our group. Couldn’t recommend more. But def order the menu items and not just the lobster!“

“Very good service and beers. The Oktoberfest was amazing and my wife got the Mexican lager and the server put in limes in it to make it 100% better. Thank you for doing that and for letting us try samples. We sampled the raspberry wheat… it’s pretty good but I think the others were better. Being from Milwaukee WI we are beer lovers and this place had some really good beers. A couple things I would recommend. Please take your merch more seriously. Would have loved to have gotten a cool shirt. The other thing I would say and this might be true but we didn’t see any — if you have decks of cards or any board games — people traveling like us would have loved to temporarily use them for a bit. All in all though this place has great beer and a good atmosphere and a great outdoor patio seating area. That was very nice to enjoy the beautiful weather.“

“A fantastic venue for drinking and dancing. It's a distillery and they craft some fabulous drinks. Rum with salsa dancing is a potent and fun mix. As a senior travel writer and retired professional dancer of 45 years, I did encounter the ageism thing as usual but I am older in comparison to the average person here and expect it. Some were freaked out they had to dance with me in a rotational group. Body language and projection say way more than words. Rather than introduce yourself and give warm welcomes/goodbyes I mostly saw employees/instructors hiding behind their cell phones with slouched postures. That's an avoidance behavior and probably not in the best interests of a growing business. Prejudging a potential customer can cost a business dearly from my experience. But again it's a fine and elegant bar and I highly recommend a visit especially before you dance!“

When I asked if the chef could add a garnish of pine nuts to the Fettuccine Alfredo and spinach, he obliged me and toasted them perfectly. You will be glad you had dinner at Ribollita's when you visit this restaurant!“

“This place rocks and I had the best $11 lunch. The puffy avo and shrimp tacos are my favorite. I went early and it wasn’t busy so I was able to get a little solo work lunch in and the server Luis was SO nice and welcoming. I also didn’t realize the have a kids changing table in the bathroom and most places in Portland aren’t kid friendly so I think I’ll come back with my kids soon because I’m already hungry for another taco and a happy upbeat welcoming atmosphere.“

We had a flatbread that was absolutely delicious and chicken, bacon ranch salad with house made ranch that was exceptional. Closer than any. We don’t have a flatbread company near our home sure wish we did.“
