“Our Garden Suite was awesome! Super comfortable and well appointed, awesome soaking tub, the nicest robes, great views and quick walk to the beach. Loved how dog friendly it is. Dog bowls, dog blanket, dog towel, ball, poopie bags and a giant biscuit greeted our pup. Dogs are even allowed in the tavern. Hot chocolate and cookies in the lobby at night. Chocolates in the room. Free use of the steam room and experience shower in the spa for guests. Staff is great! That’s just to name a few things that makes the Inn by the Sea great! We can’t wait to go back!“

“Have nothing but good things to say about this place! Quick, friendly, and tasty. Pricey but reasonable for what you get, given the quality! Go for the usual items (lobster roll, fried claims) but do not sleep on the fried scallops and any of the desserts. I've been fortunate enough to come here many times and it gets significantly better, each and every time.“

“Higher Grounds is the coolest store ever. My husband and I stopped in twice during our Portland stay from out of town. We bought a variety of THC products and found the prices reasonable and quality to be exceptional. It’s a calm and ambiant place free from judgement. Sign me up. Husband is a Cookie Monster so, after dinner somewhere else, he found this spot and drove us here to satisfy the sweet tooth.

When we saw the line of people and bustling parking lot, we knew we were onto something.

Fortunately, the menu isn't that large or complex so it moves quickly and we waited probably 10 minutes if that.

We tried an old school vanilla hot fudge sundae with nuts and whipped cream (me) and my husband got the chocolate brownie soft serve and absolutely loved it as well.“

I ordered the chicken sandwich, and it was one of the most unique and flavorful sandwiches I’ve ever had. Every bite was incredible. My friend ordered the steak and cheese, and it must have been amazing because she ate every last bite of it without hesitation! The staff deserves special recognition as well. They were excellent, kind, and especially patient with my service dog in training, who is only five months old. Their understanding and welcoming attitude made the whole experience even better. “Best food I ate in Portland all week (including upscale places) was the lobster bisque from Chef Ryan. Oysters were GREAT as well. Family friendly. Chef Ryan’s whole menu was top notch and the kitchen staff was so nice. Ty came up and offered to give my young kids a lobster lesson over FaceTime (was here for work). Lizzy was excellent at the bar for our group. Ashley was amazing and welcoming to our group. Couldn’t recommend more. But def order the menu items and not just the lobster!“

I am a regular at the Scarborough commissary throughout the summer and this was my first time visiting the Portland location. The staff all said hello to me with a smile and conversation and had no problem packing a few rolls for me to go! Great staff and always consistent food!“

“I had a Thanksgiving sandwich there the other day. Whole grain bread was good, the turkey was good, but the "stuffing" was cold. The sandwich was just NOT hot enough. The cranberry mayo is fair. It should have a scoop of warm actual cranberry sauce, not mayo. The stuffing detracted from the idea and taste of the sandwich. Incidentally, the prep and service were quick (too quick). Hey, maybe a pickle slice or two would be nice.“
