“Our Garden Suite was awesome! Super comfortable and well appointed, awesome soaking tub, the nicest robes, great views and quick walk to the beach. Loved how dog friendly it is. Dog bowls, dog blanket, dog towel, ball, poopie bags and a giant biscuit greeted our pup. Dogs are even allowed in the tavern. Hot chocolate and cookies in the lobby at night. Chocolates in the room. Free use of the steam room and experience shower in the spa for guests. Staff is great! That’s just to name a few things that makes the Inn by the Sea great! We can’t wait to go back!“

“Came in during the rainy Memorial Day weekend with my husband and we ordered the clam chowder, clam plate (comes with fries) and a fountain drink(refills were free). I feel the prices were market standards for this day in age, it is what it is we paid $46 for everything. We liked the soup, though did feel it was a little watery, we wouldn’t jump to reccomend it. The clam plate was massive, and delicious. The clams were perfectly breaded and fried, and the fries were nice and crispy. The interior of the restaurant was nicely themed and cozy, while the exterior is stunning with panaramoic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Overall, I think it’s worth a stop if you’re passing by.“

The eggplant terrine? Better than Nonna’s.

“I am the kind of person who scoffed at vanilla ice cream. I thought it was boring, plain, blah. So when I went to Zephyr Ice I had planned to ask if I could just get the shaved ice— no ice cream. I am so glad I didn’t do that. This is the best ice cream I have ever tasted, and the shaved ice of course was flawless. I can’t go often because of the distance, but whenever I do find myself near Portland, I dream of this place.“

Very generous portion sizes for the price, and their soft serve is just so, so good. I tried the toffee soft serve (a flavor of the day) and it was a little too sweet for my liking, but the vanilla and chocolate are amazing. Soft serve sometimes tastes very chemical, but this tastes like the real stuff!“

I am a regular at the Scarborough commissary throughout the summer and this was my first time visiting the Portland location. Chef Ryan’s whole menu was top notch and the kitchen staff was so nice. Ty came up and offered to give my young kids a lobster lesson over FaceTime (was here for work). Lizzy was excellent at the bar for our group. Ashley was amazing and welcoming to our group. Couldn’t recommend more. But def order the menu items and not just the lobster!“

They infuse their gin with things like strawberries and raspberries and make their own tonic. The music is on point, board games are here to be played and an indoor/outdoor vibe. Idk what you’re waiting for.. get over here! Also shout out to the bartenders are they were both lovely humans!“
