“Our Garden Suite was awesome! Super comfortable and well appointed, awesome soaking tub, the nicest robes, great views and quick walk to the beach. Loved how dog friendly it is. Dog bowls, dog blanket, dog towel, ball, poopie bags and a giant biscuit greeted our pup. Dogs are even allowed in the tavern. Hot chocolate and cookies in the lobby at night. Chocolates in the room. Free use of the steam room and experience shower in the spa for guests. Staff is great! That’s just to name a few things that makes the Inn by the Sea great! We can’t wait to go back!“

“Came in during the rainy Memorial Day weekend with my husband and we ordered the clam chowder, clam plate (comes with fries) and a fountain drink(refills were free). I feel the prices were market standards for this day in age, it is what it is we paid $46 for everything. We liked the soup, though did feel it was a little watery, we wouldn’t jump to reccomend it. The clam plate was massive, and delicious. The clams were perfectly breaded and fried, and the fries were nice and crispy. The interior of the restaurant was nicely themed and cozy, while the exterior is stunning with panaramoic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Overall, I think it’s worth a stop if you’re passing by.“

“This meal was a 10/10 early on just from the bread (from Standard Baking Co.) and Wood oven roasted mussels alone. The way we’d bottle the sauce they were cooked in if we could. Both the hangar steak and pork chop were seasoned and cooked to perfection. Mashed potatoes are the best we ever had. Rhubarb creme brûlée was perfect and light. Ambiance is lovely. Service was amazing. Left so happy and satisfied. Would come back over and over.“

“My husband and I had lunch here before an appointment nearby. This restaurant had delicious food. My husband ordered the Down east Ruben, which was made with deep fried haddock with Cole slaw piled high on the bun with melted cheese. He said it was delicious! I opted for the classic BLT. Again, the sandwich was delicious. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and ample bacon was piled on top. I watched a young man bus the tables. He was extremely thorough cleaning the tables and seating. He even washed the items on the table (salt & pepper shakers, ketchup and hot sauce bottles). This young man then set the tables for new customers. Being a bit of a clean freak, I appreciated this young man's work. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant.“

My friend ordered the steak and cheese, and it must have been amazing because she ate every last bite of it without hesitation! The staff deserves special recognition as well. “Best food I ate in Portland all week (including upscale places) was the lobster bisque from Chef Ryan. Oysters were GREAT as well. Family friendly. Chef Ryan’s whole menu was top notch and the kitchen staff was so nice. Ty came up and offered to give my young kids a lobster lesson over FaceTime (was here for work). Lizzy was excellent at the bar for our group. Ashley was amazing and welcoming to our group. Couldn’t recommend more. But def order the menu items and not just the lobster!“
