“We recently had two visits. My first meal of fried clams-delicious. On our second visit we had a lobster roll. Stay away from them. Absolutely awful. I’m a Maine gal and this was the worst lobster roll ever. Sterns- you can do better, especially at 38$ !!“

“We stopped here after my husband a job in Scarborough, and wow… what an incredible surprise. The whole place has that true Maine vibe — cozy, welcoming, and super friendly. Our server Eric was awesome from start to finish. My husband ordered the pork schnitzel and absolutely loved it. I had the butternut squash linguine with prosciutto, roasted squash, arugula, and their homemade crostini bread… incredible. I even saved half so I could enjoy it again another day. Hubby tried two of their 5oz beers (Space Ghost and Santa’s Reinbeer) and enjoyed both. But the show-stealer? The apple crisp cheesecake. 🍎 Hubby took one bite and said, “This is so good it should be outlawed.” And honestly, he wasn’t wrong. It was ridiculous in the best way. We left talking about how we’re glad we live two hours away, because we’d be here every day if we didn’t. Highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area. Being alone with a well-behaved dog is challenging since most dog friendly places really don’t make it easy unless you have a second human to order and coordinate while you manage your dog. This place takes dog friendliness to a whole new level and the food, atmosphere, and service were top-notch.

I know my dog is the most adorable dog in the whole wide world, but every single person that worked there came to say hello and the moment I sat down, they brought a bucket of water for her. The oysters were fresh off the mud flats that I could see from my table, the beer was local, cold, and served quickly, and the avocado crab salad is hands-down one of The best salads I’ve had even though it was simple because everything was so fresh and delicious. I have every intention of visiting this establishment every time I visit Scarborough/Old Orchard Beach. This is truly a gem.“

“Was in the area and stopped in for a quick lunch. Service was great, the hazelnut porter was great but my entree not so much. I ordered the mushroom sacchetti and the sauce was full of long strips of onion. They seemed very out of place like they didn't belong in the recipe. They weren't fully cooked, it was all you could smell and all you could taste. It totally overpowered the mushroom and sacchetti. I kind of wondered if the chef was new and accidentally added them. LOL“

“I am blown away by both the service, the price point of the food, the quality of the food the absolutely amazing execution of the food and the wonderful down to earth atmosphere that the bartenders Lex and Marissa cultivate in there. “Cowbell Scarborough surpasses expectations every time I visit. The servers are friendly, attentive and polite. The food is 95% of the time correct, and if it’s not correct it is quickly resolved. Accountability is always appreciated and in this restaurant it’s certainly valued by the front of house. If you had a poor experience before, I’d recommend trying again!“
