“My husband and I had lunch here before an appointment nearby. This restaurant had delicious food. My husband ordered the Down east Ruben, which was made with deep fried haddock with Cole slaw piled high on the bun with melted cheese. He said it was delicious! I opted for the classic BLT. Again, the sandwich was delicious. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and ample bacon was piled on top. I watched a young man bus the tables. He was extremely thorough cleaning the tables and seating. He even washed the items on the table (salt & pepper shakers, ketchup and hot sauce bottles). This young man then set the tables for new customers. Being a bit of a clean freak, I appreciated this young man's work. We will definitely be returning to this restaurant.“

“Our group dined here this past Sunday and had an exceptional experience. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was very well done. For me what put this over the top was the service provided by the wait staff as well as the rest of the team. It is clear that a high level of training is put into each staff member. “Delia made our tour at Allagash one of the highlights of our time in Portland. We visited on the afternoon of our flight home to Mpls, and it was a great way to bring our Maine trip to a close. She was warm, engaging, and exceptionally knowledgeable, with that rare ability to know her subject thoroughly without making it feel like a lecture. She kept the tour lively, welcomed questions, and shared the story and craft behind Allagash with genuine enthusiasm and a great sense of humor. You can visit a brewery for the beer, but the person leading the tour often determines how much you remember about it afterward. Delia made ours memorable. “If you are looking for some of Portland's most amazing foods come here. Today I had their special which was a softshell crab dish that was out of this world. I have never had the same thing twice at MaMi because all of the dishes look and smell and taste so amazing I want to try them all. It's truly an experience.“

“My wife and I started our week's visit to Portland with dinner at the Union restaurant in The Press Hotel. We were so lucky that coincided with a special 3-course lobster meal which we both ordered and loved from start with lobster croquettes to lobster pasta to the desserts. We added the tempura green beans to the appetizers which were so specially delicious. A cold bottle of their spanish cava complimented the food. Our waiter Yajia was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is a delight to sit in and look at. All in all a wonderful, memorable start to our trip.“

Truly disappointing & surprising new things include….. a rebrand that feels lacking in the traditional personality. Perhaps totally geared towards tourists in its generic / stereotypical “seafaring Maine” nature?!
Will support & get their excellent beers / enjoy their top-notch staff no matter what, but it’s a letdown. Especially because I love both RT and Oxbow, the new owner and separate excellent brewery“
