This place is a gem. And for 42 bucks for the omakase it's a steal. Was pleasantly surprised at the amount of courses included. I think it ended up being like 9 if you count the edamame.
Everything here was absolutely delicious. We sat at the counter and the kitchen staff were so fun to listen to. They really seemed to be having a good time. Our server was so attentive and friendly and my cocktail was amazing. I've eaten a lot of food in Japan and the kakuni was just like I remembered it. I also love how they do small plates here. This place is an absolute must go to restaurant in Portland. The atmosphere is very cozy, at least in the space and the lighting, but super hip.
