“Our Garden Suite was awesome! Super comfortable and well appointed, awesome soaking tub, the nicest robes, great views and quick walk to the beach. Loved how dog friendly it is. Dog bowls, dog blanket, dog towel, ball, poopie bags and a giant biscuit greeted our pup. Dogs are even allowed in the tavern. Hot chocolate and cookies in the lobby at night. Chocolates in the room. Free use of the steam room and experience shower in the spa for guests. Staff is great! That’s just to name a few things that makes the Inn by the Sea great! We can’t wait to go back!“

“I’ll start by saying we were a walk-in and waited outside in the rain. A little doubt crossed our minds. Luckily, it was quickly proven to be a phantom. Would give 10/10 stars if I could. Absolutely excellent experience. The food was delicious, interesting, and classic somehow all at once (and I’m a snob). We had the lamb special and it was otherworldly. The cocktails were incredible. The service was attentive but not too much so (shoutout Grayson). Loved it and will definitely be back if we come back to Portland. Would wait outside in the rain for 30 + minutes in a heartbeat for those mussels and Grayson again.“

“Best food I ate in Portland all week (including upscale places) was the lobster bisque from Chef Ryan. Oysters were GREAT as well. Family friendly. Chef Ryan’s whole menu was top notch and the kitchen staff was so nice. Ty came up and offered to give my young kids a lobster lesson over FaceTime (was here for work). Lizzy was excellent at the bar for our group. Ashley was amazing and welcoming to our group. Couldn’t recommend more. But def order the menu items and not just the lobster!“

“I cannot rave enough about my experience here. Being alone with a well-behaved dog is challenging since most dog friendly places really don’t make it easy unless you have a second human to order and coordinate while you manage your dog. This place takes dog friendliness to a whole new level and the food, atmosphere, and service were top-notch.

I know my dog is the most adorable dog in the whole wide world, but every single person that worked there came to say hello and the moment I sat down, they brought a bucket of water for her. The oysters were fresh off the mud flats that I could see from my table, the beer was local, cold, and served quickly, and the avocado crab salad is hands-down one of The best salads I’ve had even though it was simple because everything was so fresh and delicious. I have every intention of visiting this establishment every time I visit Scarborough/Old Orchard Beach. This is truly a gem.“

“We had an amazing experience on the Lucky Catch Lobstering Cruise in Portland, Maine! The crew made everything so fun and educational. We got hands on experience checking lobster traps, baiting them, and learning all about lobsters and the local lobster industry. The boat itself was comfortable and offered great views of the harbor, and the crew was friendly, knowledgeable, and full of interesting stories. “Walked into the Portland location at 7:57 on a Saturday when they close at 8:00 and they graciously served me, even though it was clear they had finished cleaning up for the night. I am a regular at the Scarborough commissary throughout the summer and this was my first time visiting the Portland location.
