“Every time we go I am in awe of his talent and flavors and textures that he executes flawlessly. Rhubarb brown butter cake with Parmesan blew my mind. The perfect bite of sweet, salty, savory and nutty. How does he come up with this. One of the, if not in my opinion the best pastry chef in Maine! By the way he owns the place and works in his own business a rare things to come across nowadays in Maine. How has this guy not been nominated for a James beard???? Hammer it Queen.“
“Phenomenal!!! A must visit. Cocktails and food far exceeded expectations. Atmosphere amazing and service staff in speak easy portion outstanding. Will be back next time we are in Portland.Parking: Parked in garage near back entrance, very convenient. 7$ per hour.“
“A beautiful environment, incredible food, and amazing staff. I have no complaints at all about my visit and Papi has officially become one of my favorite spots in Portland.Prices are on the higher end, expect to pay $20 to $30 per person for food, with cocktails in the $15 to $20 range. I went with a friend, we each got an amazing meal and two cocktails apiece. They were beautifully constructed and delicious. We spent about $55 each. That said, I would definitely consider it worth the money here. Thank you very much Papi for an incredible experience!“
“The food at Hunt and Alpine is always amazing and the cocktails are consistently the best I have had. Nothing on the drink menu jumping out at you? Tell them what you like and they will surprise you. We go there multiple times per trip and never get tired of it.“
“My Fiance and I came here for my birthday dinner and we were very impressed. We started off with the Meatballs and the Sourdough bread didnt lack in flavor and got us more excited for our entrees. Our server Rich was very knowledgeable about the menu and wines. We ordered the gnocchi and bolognese both were amazing the flavor combinations meshed and had our taste buds bouncing. We ordered the panna cotta, tiramisu, and another dessert with waffle cones and espresso and all 3 were spectacular!“
“We stopped in on a whim and loved every second at the kitchen bar. A great vibe, exquisite service, and impressive, flavorful dishes made our night. We will be back on purpose and will be sure to go in very early or secure a reservation. Simply excellent!!“
“We were in the mood for a very light dinner and some dessert, so we sought out Gross Confection Bar. It is underground and dimly lit with a super sexy vibe, but they happily welcomed us with our toddler. We got the two charcuterie boards to fill us up, and it was a solid idea. Lots of delicious meat and cheese to try. The desserts, clearly homemade, were delicious. I couldn't decide which one I liked more. They were both so inventive and the perfect portion so that we wouldn't feel gross afterwards. I adored the bean mousse on the semifredo! It's a unique bar and I would recommend stopping here after dinner for light bites. Meat and cheese charcuterie boards Honey semifredo Creme brulee The bling ring (yuzu, honey, peach, and orange nonalcoholic drink)“
“We stopped in here Thursday night for dessert. We were seated quickly. It was around 10pm, so still early. There were a decent amount of people there. Not packed. Dimly lit. It's cute inside. Nice date place. We started with a Brandy Alexander Martini and the Chocolate Salted Caramel Martini. My boyfriend tried mine and sent his Brandy Alexander back for the Chocolate Salted Caramel haha. It's THAT delicious. BEST martini I've ever had!! 10/10. Highly recommend!!! The carrot cake is good. Not a fan of the frosting, so I'm happy there was not a lot of it. The carrot cake itself is moist and flavorful. 8/10 We will try the chocolate cake next time and we are definitely getting the Chocolate Salted Caramel Martini again!! Love the dark chocolate and cocoa powder on the rim of the martini glass. So good!! We will be back there. :)“
“This is a wonderful place operated by knowledgeable and friendly people. They have a variety of delicious food and drink options. The grilled cheese here is taken to the next level, definitely a must try! Also, the desserts are fantastic! If you find yourself at a Sea Dogs or Celtics game and have some time before or after you should check it out!“
“Wandered into here on the 4th or 5th stop on my husband’s birthday crawl… we were prob a few years too old to be cool here… but everyone was super nice and they gave us bomb espresso martinis and played awesome chill music. Didn’t have any food but I’d definitely trust them for a snack. Definitely recommend you fit this into your Portland itinerary!“
“I've been to the Continental twice and had an excellent experience both times. First was lunch and I had delicious French onion soup, salad, and the best pour of Guinness I've ever been served! We returned today for brunch and I had a grilled chicken sandwich and of course another perfect pint of Guinness. I typically don't go for grilled chicken because it's boring, but the buttery grilled bread, tarragon mayo, and pickles really brought the sandwich together. The fries were also cooked perfectly. The best part of the Continental is the amazing service! The owner/bartender really makes it a great experience. The Press Herald review was BS! The Continental rules and I hope it's successful in its first year!“
“Excellent! We had the house salad … like no house salad I’ve ever had! Lots of goodies, super tasty and the large was plenty for two! My hubby had rigatoni carbonara. I had the crab raviolini. We also ordered bread service ($7 was a bit high).Rigatoni carbonara was very tasty but extremely rich. He wished it would have been cut with an acid for balance. My ravolini was perfect in flavor and size.We sat at the bar (not our fave but we didn’t have a reso). Stools were NOT comfortable. Bar/waitress (Lora/Lori I’m pretty sure that’s her name) was friendly and solicitous to us.It was great to be in a neighborhood (and not in the Old Port). We’ve driven by the restaurant and never been inside … glad we did this time. We’ll be back!“
“Best of Portland Brewery and Spirits Bus Tour – Three of StrongThree of Strong is a rum distillery, bar, and tasting room. Rum is any spirit made from a sugar cane plant which makes is very versatile. Three of Strong uses all organic ingredients that include sugar cane, molasses, slow fermenting yeast and locally sourced water. They do not use any artificial flavors or colors.I enjoyed the tour and of the distillery and learned about the process for making rum. After their tasting session, I found their spiced rum to be one of the best I have ever had. It was smooth and the delivered very flavorful finish when drinking it straight. If you are in Portland, ME, make sure you stop in or visit by going on the “Best of Portland Brewery and Spirits Bus” Tour.“
“We had a lovely stay at the Canopy. Per recommendations we had brunch at the Salt Yard. Our food was delicious and customer service was outstanding. Ellie made our delicious lattes and was super friendly. Will definitely come here again. Overall experience was great.“
“Stopped in here for a couple drinks and was served by Ian. He was awesome and alone makes coming back worth it. They didn’t have a huge whiskey/whisky selection but the sister company he explained did. He even went over to grab a menu for us to look at. Atmosphere was great, bathrooms were crazy clean. Must stop by, can’t talk about the food, but getting Ian to serve you makes it worth it!“
“In February, we journeyed from New York to Portland. Despite the chilly weather hindering our enjoyment, the highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the dinner experience here! Finding a restaurant that meets the standards set by New York's great culinary scene is a challenge, but this place exceeded expectations. If you're in Portland or nearby, it's a must-try! You can truly taste the passion chef puts into his cooking.“
“Everything is perfect!Food is tasty, drinks are delicious and the atmosphere is perfect for a date night!Highly recommend! We had the Grilled Sourdough w. Salted Butter, Iberico Chorizo, Caramelized Pearl Onion and Pipara and the Tuna Tin Casserole! They are great!Coming for more next week!“
“Lincoln's is a rare gem. I have been coming to Lincoln's for almost 4 years now, and have created many incredible memories there. From getting engaged to my best friend of 13 years at Lincoln's, to making new friends like Brad, Drew and more, from the good quality drinks for $5, it's great! It's my now-husband and I's favorite place to go when in Portland.“
“We were staying at the lovely regency hotel for an anniversary. This lovely brunch spot did not disappoint! Overlooking the street but with a quiet and elegant interior, it afforded the ability to people watch a little bit carry on a quiet conversation. I had the salmon plate, with smoked lox, bagel, capers and assortment of pickled items capers, pickles, and onions and a crisp sliced tomato. My husband had eggs over easy with corned beef hash, which he raved about. We had pots of earl grey tea, which remained nice and hot for the duration of our meal. Our server was excellent, offering recommendations and keeping our water glasses full (needed after the late night enjoying restaurant week in Portland) 5 stars. Will absolutely eat here when we stay here again!“
“Mixologist from Quebec City. When I come to Portland it’s for research and networking….Gabrielle is a phenomenal mixologist who offered an incredible service and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and, as we say in French, “well watered”.Cocktail wise, Jewel Box is second to none in portland (and this is coming from a Blythe and Burrows fan).Top 3 worldwide in my book.Cheers, keep on grinding. One love“
“Vibes, drinks, music: all immaculate. Got the forgotten paradise cocktail and it was perfect. Very nice little space, great lighting, super friendly bartenders. Felt safe going there alone and had a nice chat with some strangers. Will definitely be back. Thanks for being here for the queers!“
“This is becoming one of our go to places for drinks while we wait for a table. We have never had to wait for a seat and the cocktails are creative and well balanced. The bartenders have on several occasions invented mocktails for our tweens so they wouldn’t be left out while we waited for dinner.“
“Wandered here for lunch and was greeted by a cozy, dimly lit dining room with only a few people in it, but with a buzzing, friendly energy. Our server was lovely and happily shared the dishes she enjoyed with us. My friend ordered a lobster roll and I ordered a big bowl of clam chowder, along with a root beer and a bright red mocktail. As much as it was hyped, the food felt a bit under-seasoned, and I struggled to taste much fishiness from my soup or my friend’s roll. The chips and pickle served with the roll were really good, as were the drinks.I would come here again during a warmer month & take advantage of the patio outside. I’d also come mentally prepared for the $75 bill at the end- not unjustified on their part, just a bit on the pricey end.Overall, would recommend!“
“Popped in for a quick lunch, loved the guacamole and rice and beans. My partner had the chicken tinga, it was wonderful! I had the El Paso, spicy abut a lively bite. The drink was a Rosita, it was ok but too sweet for me! Overall great spot! We will be back!“
“This is a really beautiful bourbon bar located in the heart of downtown Portland. We the space isn't large but the atmosphere and styling create a really cool vibe. If you're a bourbon fan, they've got more varieties than some stores available for tasting. Don't skip a “
“Yes! Fu$k, yes! When we come back to Portland this will be the top choice. We hit a list of recommend dinning places. While most where good, this is our favorite. Not cheap, but worth it.Oh...Also, service is great. Andy (even other servers and host) were all about table maintenance - not the annoying kind, the perfect amount.“
