“We got lucky with perfect time of day, weather, temperature and sun. The quality of food, the care and attention in its presentation, the plate timing and swarming service at time of food delivery were all perfect. The porch filled up fast with tables but we were able to find Adirondack chairs on the lawn. Aggie the wine pairings were the only thing not perfect... Taste and preferences are all a subtle art form and a couple of subtle misses were experienced though the actual wine quality was excellent.“

“We had an 8 pm reservation, but it took a little time to clear the table from the previous diners (kids, some food on the floor), which was fine - we were with friends and enjoying conversation. We were seated at 8:15, and our server poured tap water. She said she'd be right back. It was ten minutes later when my wife mentioned to the hostess that we'd like to order cocktails. Five more minutes passed, and I asked another waiter to please have our server come to the table. Finally, twenty minutes after we were seated, our server took our entire order. We got our cocktails at 8:55, forty minutes after being seated. The food arrived at about 9:15. The cocktails were great and the food was delicious, so I'm giving the food five stars, but the service was poor, very slow. We've dined here probably forty times over the past fifteen years, and loved it every time - until last night. We recommended the place to our guests and they had not been before, so we were really disappointed at the service. Our server was perfectly cordial and friendly, but gave no explanation for the slow service. I hope it was just an off night, and our next visit will be back up to what we've come to expect over the years.“

“The owner/bartender makes the best cocktails I've had in Maine. His drinks are super balanced, authentic and presented well with a focus on early 20th century classics. The environment offers the best ambiance around with a lounge, outdoor deck and a ton of "vintage" game systems to play with. I would tell more people about it, but I'm afraid once word gets out there will be a line to get in and a cover charge. 10/10“

“We cannot recommend For The Love of Food and Drink enough — they were absolutely incredible from start to finish and worth every single penny. The service was truly top notch, and the food was phenomenal. We chose a BBQ menu, and to this day we still have guests talking about how amazing it was. We even had a family member from Texas say it was the best BBQ he’s ever had, which says everything. Beyond the food, we also utilized their wedding day-of coordination services, and it was hands down one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. They made the entire day run so smoothly and handled every detail so we could truly enjoy ourselves. As soon as we finished the ceremony and were ready for photos, they had drinks waiting for us — such a small touch that meant so much. During cocktail hour while we were taking pictures, they made sure we didn’t miss out by bringing us trays of hors d’oeuvres and personally serving us so we could enjoy everything. They continuously checked in to make sure we, our families, and our guests had everything we needed. At the end of the night, they packed everything up beautifully for us, including leftovers and the top of our cake, making it so easy to grab the next day. The level of care, professionalism, and thoughtfulness they showed was unmatched.
