“10 out of 10! Fantastic craft beers, creative and delicious comfort foods, cozy ambiance, and fabulous service! We are former Dover dwellers and C&M is one more reason to keep coming back to our favorite NH city! We loved the chicken nuggets, Rueben croquettes, fish & chips, pork sandwich, and tomato soup. Stomp Box was the beer of choice and we liked it so much, we took cans to go. Perfect hazy IPA! (We live 3 miles from a Tree House brewery so this is saying a lot!)“
“The entrance is a little hard to find so we had to call the restaurant to get directions, but once we got there it was a great. The food and service was fantastic- the owner even showed us how he makes Dirk’s Special Sauce right at our table, and gave us extra to take home.We went at the weekend and it was really busy, so would recommend booking ahead if you want to get a table. You won’t be disappointed!“
“My husband and I love going here after a stressful week. It can be a pricey, but a good cigar can last an hour or longer, so it's worth it. And they always make great recommendations on what wine or scotch to pair with each cigar. We normally go here with a few friends and bring a card game along. I highly recommend!“
“What a gem! Although we are "regulars" of the Kittery food and drink scene we hadn't made it here until a wintery Friday night. Cozy vibe, extremely friendly, attentive, creative staff. The Bourbon lovers in our crowd praised "A fist in the mouth of time" and "Something for Timmy". The gin drinkers loved "Text me Ishmael" and the tequila lovers loved "Jupiter Jazz". We managed to sample a cocktail created by each of the mixologists working... we coverd a lot of the menu territory but there is still much more to explore. We're definitely coming back. “I personally did not eat here but my wife and daughter, who has a severe dairy allergy ate here last night. My wife was overwhelmed with how accommodating they were and the level of seriousness that they took her allergy. I can't begin to tell you how amazing it is for us to go out to eat "like normal families do" and for it to not be a STRICTLY vegan restaurant. My wife told me she was close to tears. I just wanted to thank the staff at this great restaurant for giving them this experience. My wife and daughter are in town for a tour of UNH and I am very happy to know she will have a safe place to hang with friends and get a bite to eat without worry. “Great restaurant! First thing I noticed is the happiness of the employees o thing but smiles. Everyone working helped each other and they seemed to be a team who enjoys working with each other because of that our service was impeccable. From drinks to the food everything was delicious. We started with fried calamari cooked perfectly, we had warm rolls served with soft butter ,roasted garlic and olives. We ordered the salmon and monk fish both cooked with so much flavor and the presentation was beautiful. Then for dessert we ordered the banana cake new on the menu I’m not a sweet eater but this was perfect not too sweet…..definitely everyone should visit this restaurant.“

“My boyfriend took me here for our anniversary dinner. I'm a line cook, and have worked as a chef. I have nothing but glowing reviews, and this is the kind of restaurant I aspire to open one day.This is a small, intimate restaurant with an extremely thoughtful and dedicated staff. They have parking available, which is an unusual luxury for Portsmouth. The food is inventive and excellent- modern French cuisine is very apt. Portion sizes are thoughtful to enable you to finish each dish while still craving the next. The gin cocktails are delicious, beautiful, and pair wonderfully with the menu. The FOH was also incredibly considerate towards my boyfriend, who is vegan. Overall, excellent ambience, drinks, food, and service. Botanica is a special experience. “I pass through NH from Maine and I've ended up here randomly twice. It has been a very good experience both times. Having worked in the industry for awhile, I can usually tell a good establishment when I see it. This place seems consistently decent. Worth checking out for both visitors and locals.Matt, maybe? “Went for my birthday with my husband, and it did not disappoint. Everything about this place is top notch, from the service to the atmosphere to the food. Cocktails are incredible. There is nothing that we ordered that we wouldn't highly recommend, abd this is the sort if place where I'd order something different even if I'm not sure about it because I know it would still probably be good. The scallops and my husband's steak were cooked perfectly, and the flavors were on point.“
“I go here about once a week and enjoy the opportunity to smoke in a well-ventilated environment. The service is good and bartenders skilled. The liquor selection is limited, but that is because the space itself is relatively small. They do a good job of keeping the more popular, high-end alcohols. The cigar selection is excellent; there is a $20 cutting fee if you bring your own, although that is sometimes waived if you spend a lot on drinks as I do.There is a special members lounge with a large screen TV and personal cigar lockers. It costs around $1,000 a year to be a member.The bathroom is very nice and other aspects of the ambiance are generally good although the space itself is a little cramped.I docked a star and almost two because they often play loud rap music which is completely obnoxious and out of character with the otherwise laid back atmosphere.“
“My gf and I came for lunch around 230, no problems with a bouncer and staff were all nice, professional, and courteous.Now, the real star of the show was the food. We ordered the hummus board and the fish and chips. The hummus is made in house and served with a veggie mix and house made pitas. We both loved the hummus and pitas, both were very delicious. The fish was also very well done, nice and flaky. Only issue, very small, was the breading on the fish was, in places, a little oily.F- the pain away, the mix drink I had, was very good.“

“We celebrated a birthday dinner here last week. The food was excellent; Madison (our server) was professional, efficient, thorough, and friendly; the setting was charming and had a great view of the river. We shared the caprese salad which was surprisingly memorable, and we each had a basket of fish and chips. We’d definitely come back here.“
“This evening I stopped into Rudders and was met with the kindest soul, Hanna. I was a fish out of water and she kindly welcomed me. I got to talking with her and was soon a fast friend. I also got to meet Caitlin who despite working a full room had a great spirit. The service from these two, unmatched. Especially when you don’t know what you want they were so fun to chat with. “This was my third time at cup of joe and I’ll definitely be returning! The staff is friendly helpful and professional. They make a great latte along with a delicious chocolate hazelnut croissant. Brought the boys in last week during the quieter part of the day to allow Chunk (our reactive ½ of the duo) the opportunity to sniff out the scene. Really pleased with how well he did and the very kind female barista that made it possible. I’ll include there’s a nice viewing window that Blue put to good use!“

The scallops were cooked a perfect medium rare absolutely melt in your mouth, hands down the best I’ve ever had at an establishment. I left very full and very very happy!
