The burger I got the other day was disastrous. Not only was it not tasty, but it also caused serious stomach discomfort. The patties were paper-thin, overcooked, and basically just two pieces of charcoal.
I don't know what changed, but please bring the good burger back.
Also, to truly enjoy the outdoor space, it would be nice to have some sort of screen or barrier from the road and passing cars.“

“My love and I dined here last night. Our server was wonderful, and she enticed me with the Sea Bass Special. I've never ordered a special before, and..wow. The buttery flakiness of the fish, the perfect rice, and the bright salad dressing sent me to the moon. The old woman (delightful) brought us this amazing giant bread. Sara had the chicken kabob, and the meat was delectable. Our entire meal was amazing. $58 for two people (I had one Budweiser) is amazing. Live music on the weekends But we also hosted our one year olds first birthday party here! We had about 40 people. Galen and Danielle (I did no catch the other bartenders name) were amazing and so so welcoming!! Definitely reach out if you want to host an event here! “Been coming here for years. Great vibes, I love that Socratic Society (philosophy student org) still comes here. The place is a non-profit that works on bringing awareness to human trafficking, child labor, etc. The food is always good. The staff are really nice and professional. I don't know if I've ever had their coffee. I'm more of a tea guy and they always have about two dozen teas available. I'd highly recommend to anyone really, but especially if you like tea and solid food options (crepe's, sandwiches, omelettes).“

“I was planning to go to a different downtown restaurant and walked in to this one as it started raining. The waitress took every effort to ensure our dietary requirements were taken care of. They had quite a few veggie burger options. We picked The Cool Beans, which came with a black bean and corn patty. She was quite transparent with the fact that they used the same fryer and oil for frying meat,veggie appetizers and fries. So, she substituted fries with freshly sliced avocado. The burger itself was thick and juicy. We ordered a PB& Chocolate milkshake that capped out dinner. They went out of the way to limit cross contamination. Will definitely return.“

There is a stage on which all different bands play throughout the warmer months. When it is colder they sometimes have music inside. “Wonderful old-school, Old-Maine place - "Lobsters in the Rough" like we used to have. Ambience - totally relaxed, right on the water. Food - Menu has good variety, the lobsters come in daily, cooked just right. The view across the river to Portsmouth is like no other, plus the river traffic and bridge openings, lobster boats, big ships, tugs, you name it. River breezes tend to keep things a little cooler.
