“We sat at the chef's bar to watch the kitchen action and opted to pick out 4 vegetarian options from the menu. The portions were generous for 2 people. If you are a big eater and like to take home leftovers, you can choose the Chef's tasting menu, because it is difficult to choose from all the menu options. Each dish was so tasty, with layers of robust flavor & texture. The food is very rich and while we couldn't eat like this every day, we thoroughly enjoyed every option we chose. Simple but creative dishes. We also savored an absolutely decadent chocolate dessert, craft beer & an alcohol free cocktail. The music was a great addition to the overall vibe, and the restaurant set up is unique and bar-style downstairs. I'm glad we close to sit on the ground floor and watch the action. There is also an option to sit at a table upstairs in the mezzanine. We plan to return to try other menu options. A unique dining experience. Very nice, attentive staff.“
“Phenomenal!!! A must visit. Cocktails and food far exceeded expectations. Atmosphere amazing and service staff in speak easy portion outstanding. Will be back next time we are in Portland.Parking: Parked in garage near back entrance, very convenient. 7$ per hour.“
“My Fiance and I came here for my birthday dinner and we were very impressed. We started off with the Meatballs and the Sourdough bread didnt lack in flavor and got us more excited for our entrees. Our server Rich was very knowledgeable about the menu and wines. We ordered the gnocchi and bolognese both were amazing the flavor combinations meshed and had our taste buds bouncing. We ordered the panna cotta, tiramisu, and another dessert with waffle cones and espresso and all 3 were spectacular!“
“We love Paper Tiger! We are locals to Portland and enjoy the food scene here quite a bit. Paper Tiger is always a stop we incorporate when friends come to visit Maine, and it’s always a hit! From really tasty, unique cocktails, to very flavorful dishes, it’s a great spot!“
“My cousin and I decided to try this place, during Maine Restaurant Week, because we've never been here before. We so impressed with our lovely hostess/server Elizabeth, she treated us like queens! She's the primary reason I would return!Close second is the food. OUTSTANDING!It met all my dietary needs, and it was so fresh and beautifully presented. Absolutely delicious, we licked the plates clean! My cocktail was yummy and beautifully presented too.Such a beautiful atmosphere, and I can't wait to return this summer“
“Boda has always been one of my favorite places to go for a special night out. I say special because the ambiance is really warm... Candles that every table, the food is warm and delicious and presented beautifully. The prices are reasonable and competitive for Portland. The staff is also always friendly. They also have a cute bar room and a late night menu which is slightly different from their regular menu. Don't forget to try the quail eggs for a starter.Vegetarian options: They have curry and noodle dishes that you can get with tofu instead of chicken or fish or beef. They also have appetizers that are vegetarian.Parking: If it's during the day you will most likely have to pay for street parking, but if it's after 5 or 6:00 street parking is free but plan ahead because it takes a little while to find street parking in Portland.“
“Mixologist from Quebec City. When I come to Portland it’s for research and networking….Gabrielle is a phenomenal mixologist who offered an incredible service and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and, as we say in French, “well watered”.Cocktail wise, Jewel Box is second to none in portland (and this is coming from a Blythe and Burrows fan).Top 3 worldwide in my book.Cheers, keep on grinding. One love“
“This was our first visit. We chose the BBQ date night option. Which included ribeye and pork belly. Who can resist that! There were plenty of sides, too. It was fun cooking your own meal. The waitress was friendly and attentive. She offered advice, as it was our first time.“
“We used to live in Portland's Munioy Hill and regularly ate at the Blue Spoon there. We were thrilled to hear that it had reopened in Midcoast Maine. The new location does not disappoint! We had one of the most enjoyable dinners we've had in quite some time- the service was impeccable, the food was absolutely delicious, classic Bistro fare, and the ambiance was incredibly lovely. We will be back soon!!Kid-friendliness: We dined with our 8 and 10 year old and both children had a wonderful experience!“
“As always, Sur Lie certainly was an excellent choice! We went for dinner during restaurant week, and we are actually holding our wedding reception here during the summer. I love how they use different flavors, and every dish I have is always well balanced and delicious. Fabulous cocktails too!“
“Yes! Fu$k, yes! When we come back to Portland this will be the top choice. We hit a list of recommend dinning places. While most where good, this is our favorite. Not cheap, but worth it.Oh...Also, service is great. Andy (even other servers and host) were all about table maintenance - not the annoying kind, the perfect amount.“
