Public Health Warning I visited this establishment to purchase fish and was immediately concerned by the strong, unpleasant odor upon entering. The staff, primarily young employees, demonstrated poor food-handling practices. I observed frequent cross-contamination, gloves not being changed between tasks, and no visible handwashing. Additionally, the cutting boards—normally expected to be white—were stained brown and appeared unsanitary. Despite my reservations, I purchased a flounder. Upon preparing it at home, I discovered it was infested with worms and had to be discarded. This was both a financial loss and a serious health concern. Based on my experience, I believe this business is operating far below basic food safety standards and should be investigated for health code violations. I strongly caution others against purchasing food here.

This is my go-to stop for fresh seafood while in Portland. Always delicious, good assortment and good prices. Employees are always pleasant. I highly recommend picking up some of their spicy crab dip, too!

They made a mistake on our order and one lobster was diseased.

We ordered 3 x 1.5 - 2 lb hardshell and about 3 lbs of steamer (self picked). The steamers were perfect. When we got home and pulled them out for the pot, we instead had 4x soft shells and one (pictured) had shell disease and bad tasting (tail) meat, which we discarded with the rest.

Check your order BEFORE you leave.

The owner of this shop not only attacks people for their reviews, he also decides its okay to use a slur word, that one would use to describe someone who’s gay, when he’s pissed off. I HIGHLY recommend avoiding this place. He is a disgusting person who thinks it’s okay to harass others and use homosexual slurs.

Edit: I have now screen shots of him admitting to saying it, and doubling down by saying “I have gay friends, so it’s okay.”

Stopped in a couple days before we flew home to MN. The staff was very well let’s wait helpful and knowledgeable on what and what the best way to get fresh seafood back to MN. Paid $50 for a checked bag instead of $150 shipping and bright back fresh lobster, shrimp, haddock, and salmon.

Great value for lobster by the pound. We had them steam them for us and went to a park to enjoy them. Employees were super helpful! Highly recommend.

I have been coming to this store for a lot of years now because my former spot got purchased by new owner who was over charging for seafood. So, this place used to be reasonably priced. I always get the same thing when I come which is Lobster Meat. Lobster meat pricing can change, the lowest I have seen in a while is $38.99 per lb.s but these past months or even 2024 the price has been high, like $50+ per lbs. so last time I drove by during Xmas it was around $78-$79 per lbs which was wild to me but I was watching it to see when it went down. I called before I arrived and confirmed the price was at $70 per lbs which is still expensive, but I was willing to pay. But when I arrived it was nearing the end of evening so they had started to put seafood in bags, well I could see the amount they had was not even a lbs worth and I could see there was no tails which makes no sense when you are charging $70 a lbs so, my husband Shawn Saxon said we will want 2lbs and tails. But i explained to him that I know they have bags in back of the meat already deshelled because this is m=not ym 1st time buying as I have been a regular. So this woman or young lady who I have never seen here before, tells me well we will charge a $10 per lbs added for tails, mind you the meat is supposed to have tails and on top of that, I told her I have never been charged an additional price so asking for tails when what you have displayed doesn't even have tails. I would have walked out but I had already promised guest for a seafood dinner and didnt have the time to go to other spots. But this was a scam, there has never been a difference fee and if there was legally there needs to be advertised for difference in price if you request for tails, it is simple customer service. So I paid additional $20 which is Bogus. I paid $166.38 which should have been $146.38. She had the nerve to say I don't know who has helped you before, I wanted to pull out of Bank receipts to show, I have been a customer for years and I don't buy less than a lbs when I buy anytime, I come. But I told her it has been here, and she rolled her eyes as me. They should be ashamed of running their business like this, this is not any type of way to do business, I will look into more about this because as a small business owner this gives others bad names.
