I learned to like oysters in Damariscotta, ME so I ordered some oysters for my husband's birthday celebration. First of all, the oysters were absolutely wonderful. Oyster perfection. The oyster naysayer in our party was raving about the fresh, briny taste and perfect consistency. The guy who only wanted one kept coming back for more. Secondly, the packaging, inserts and presentation were great and personal. Last but not least, the customer service was spot on. I needed to update the delivery date and the change was made with cheerful correspondence. Can't wait to check out the restaurant the next time we are in Portland. I would not hesitate to order again. YUM.

This location has the best oysters I have ever had, and great service. However, I am ranking 4 stars for the operating hours reliability. During one visit on a Thursday, there was a trivia night and they were not accepting any customers. Then, 2 weeks ago on a Wednesday night, when it said they are open, I showed up and nobody was there. Call ahead I suppose, but it would be nice if a restaurant was more reliable with days of operation.

For Latino and NYC Natives: staff was kind! During winter season they only have oysters. Happy hour is 4pm-5pm and they have $2 oysters.

My wife and I loved the oyster shucking class, the folks here taught us so much, and shucking was easier than we expected. Some of the best oysters I’ve ever tried, will certainly be shipping these as gifts for next year.

Never book a room in their VRBO upstairs. John cancelled our reservation 4 days prior to arrival, without explaination or full refund. We paid $ 209.43 USD at time of booking and only refunded $22 USD. Fortunately VRBO is looking into their scam.

My son and I booked online with no idea what to expect. We are visiting Maine from Iowa and wanted oysters. I’m glad we booked here!
We shared a platter of a variety of oysters then attended the oyster shucking class. Everything was very, very good. Very laid back, low stress, informational, fun, and excellent quality. Great experience!
We also attended the oyster farm tour out of their base camp facility about an hour away. It was an amazing tour. Captain Joe is an excellent guide and made sure we had a relaxed and fun experience. We learned a lot and had a really great time.
Everyone was easy to talk to, no one tried to upsell anything, everyone seemed to take pride in what they are doing and enjoyed themselves. It was just awesome across the board.
Highly recommend eating here, booking the shucking class, and touring the oyster farm with Captain Joe!

The freshest oysters served by people passionate about oyster farming and sustainability, a variety of choices and a welcoming staff/atmosphere. They also have classes on shocking and oyster farming speakers. Go here!

Went to Maine for a day trip and was not disappointed with visiting Maine Oyster Co. They were so busy but service was very nice. They have to shuck all the oysters themselves so there is bit of a wait if very busy, but well worth it.

Outstanding! This review is for ordering and delivery of oysters to Colorado, not dining in the restaurant.

I ordered The Taste of Maine package which consists of 36 oysters from 3 different farms and , in this case, a pineapple jalapeno mignon sauce. The oysters arrived exactly as planned and were in excellent condition.

I thought 36 oysters for 4 people would be too many. I was wrong! The oysters from each farm shared a creamy texture, but were distinctive in taste and level of brininess. Before we knew it, all 36 oysters were shucked and consumed!

Added benefit? I was able to show my oyster-loving friends that there are oysters from Maine that rank with the finest in the world! And they are only an overnight shipment away. Thanks!

I signed up for an oyster shucking class here while visiting a friend in the area. I thought it would be a fun experience but I had no idea how much I would learn! My instructor was warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. She made the class very accessible and fun while answering all my questions about the different varieties and farming methods.

The oysters themselves were also incredibly delicious and fresh, and I was able to enjoy some wine while shucking in their lovely back patio. I have had lots of oysters and these were up there with the best I've ever had! I left the class excited to eat more oysters than ever before.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend!

Wanted to try this place but the location was not good. When we drove by there was too much homeless/prostitution roaming around and it did not look inviting so we went elsewhere.
