I learned to like oysters in Damariscotta, ME so I ordered some oysters for my husband's birthday celebration. First of all, the oysters were absolutely wonderful. Oyster perfection. This location has the best oysters I have ever had, and great service. However, I am ranking 4 stars for the operating hours reliability. During one visit on a Thursday, there was a trivia night and they were not accepting any customers. Then, 2 weeks ago on a Wednesday night, when it said they are open, I showed up and nobody was there. Call ahead I suppose, but it would be nice if a restaurant was more reliable with days of operation.
My wife and I loved the oyster shucking class, the folks here taught us so much, and shucking was easier than we expected. Some of the best oysters I’ve ever tried, will certainly be shipping these as gifts for next year.
