My husband and I recently had our wedding reception at Ocotillo. We worked closely with the amazing manager, Lea, and head chef extraordinaire Al. Al and their team are incredibly talented in the kitchen. The meal was hands down the best food I have ever eaten. Everyone raved about the food, drinks and service all night. The waitstaff was kind and helpful. The drinks were stellar, the atmosphere was perfect. Thank you so much to the whole staff at Ocotillo for helping us create an amazing night we will never forget. I could not recommend Ocotillo enough.

Amazing restaurant with options for most diets. Very friendly service all around, and especially our server Lewin. So accommodating and some of the best food I've ever had!
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. They’ve got a creative cocktail menu, as well as en extensive list of mezcals and tequilas. The food is delicious as well—the brisket tacos are my go-to. Definitely get the chips and salsa— they’re not your usual salsas but they are AMAZING.

Just, wow. If you’re a fan of Terlingua, you’ll love it here too. Cozy vibes with stellar food to match! Came here on a week night right at open for dinner, can’t wait to come back for brunch too!

Food allergen hell. Everything has a pepper/spice in it for dinner, although breakfast & brunch has friendlier options- this gives rise to the fact dishes are prepared in advance instead of made to order which for the price is disappointing. The ambiance & decor were lovely, but the place does need more noise mitigation. Waitstaff could be trained better in meal knowledge, but were very kind and checked on the table often. Being tables are smaller, they should be cleared timely in between small plates & entrees.

My girlfriend and I just this morning went to ocotillo for the second time. We actually scheduled our entire trip to Maine based off of this restaurant. The first time we went the food was phenomenal. I mean just 10/10. The meat was juicing the cornbread was buttery and soft and delicious. This time, the food was beyond subpar for the hype around this restaurant. We got the cow poke plate and the smoked haddock Benedict, a side of brisket and a side of cornbread. BEWARE, THE SUBSITUTE FOR BRISKET IS ONLY A SINGLE SLICE. the brisket was beyond dry and oxidized like it had been left out under a heat lamp for 6 or 7 hours. I know it's leftover brisket. That's fine. But it keeps it moist for Christ sake. The cornbread, what we literally bought a hotel room for, was so dry that I choked. I had to gobble up my watery horchata cold brew just to not have a medical emergency at the table. The beans in the cow poke plate were clearly from a can, and if they weren't, whoever's recipe that is has got to be thrown out. The smoked haddock Benedict was not only not smoky, it only tasted like bell peppers. The only good things we got, were the eggs. Cooked great. And the cactus juice or whatever the hell it's called. That little juicer is delicious. Staff was great. Atmosphere very cool. We will not be coming back.
Message to ocotillo. Lock back in. We scheduled a trip around you and some goshdarn trolls. And the trolls put you to shame.
Included the photo, I mean if you're ok with serving this, then, whatever.

I think that’s best meal I’ve ever had. Lewin is the man. The cowboy curds and gravy is unbelievable. Order a side of corn bread. I promise.

This might just be the best brunch we’ve ever had, and I don’t say that lightly. Everything about Ocotillo was absolutely perfect from start to finish.
Let’s talk about the food: the lox and avocado on sourdough was fresh and beautifully executed, but it was the day’s sausage special that really blew my girlfriend away - perfectly seasoned and clearly made with incredible care. The short stack of pancakes was ridiculously good, fluffy and flavorful and super unique.
Oh and their house-made hot sauce! It was the perfect balance of heat, flavor, and complexity that elevated every single dish it touched. I found myself putting it on everything and wanting to take a bottle home.
I drank an horchata that was rich and perfectly spiced, while the spiced peach Bellini was a creative twist that felt both seasonal and refreshing.
All of this was served on their gorgeous covered outdoor patio, which created the most relaxing and beautiful dining atmosphere. The wait staff was absolutely incredible - attentive, friendly, and clearly knowledgeable about everything they were serving.
This is the kind of brunch experience that sets the bar impossibly high for everywhere else. Cannot wait to return!

Walked in with no reservation around 11am on Sunday. We were immediately seated at the bar. A table would have been a 15 minute wait. Gwen, our bartender/waitress, was warm and friendly. My cappuccino was very good, but the highlights were our breakfasts- brisket hash and cowpoke pork shoulder. The meats were expertly done and delicious. My corn bread and the sweetened butter was incredible. We will be returning again and again!

One of the most delicious breakfasts I've have out in Portland. It's a super cute space and nestled in the West End area so it's not too busy, but still not far from all of the action. I would definitely recommend getting reservations but we lucked out and were seated quickly. The drinks were very tasty, especially the fruity ones. The food was incredible and excellent portions. We shared 2 plates between the three of us and we're very satisfied. I have been thinking about this breakfast all week.

Great menu, good drinks and wonderful service. The mole is soooo good and the drinks are amazing. All the meats are just what you are looking for - seasoned and roasted to perfection. This place is really good!
