Got the lobster fra daviola. Sauce was very good but there were very few pieces of lobster meat. We also got the table bread and it was cold.

I’m an eggplant parmigiana snob. I order it all the time and usually disappointed. I’m always comparing it to my Italian grandmother recipe. This eggplant parmigiana was just like hers absolutely delicious. Thank you and we’ll be back. .

Everything was 10/10. Ravioli was some of the best I have ever had in my life (just spent two weeks in Italy). Please visit this establishment!!!

We loved this restaurant. We are staying in the west end of Portland and wanted to dine in the area. Food was excellent and we will return before our trip ends.
This place is great! It's in a beautiful historic building and the food is amazing. Perfect for a date night of family dinner. We'll be going again.

We found the calamari appetizer to be a little on the spicy side. The meatball appetizer was amazing. And the bread service was excellent also. Five of us ordered the ravioli special. It was so tasteful and cooked perfectly. However, I thought the portions were very small. The sixth person ordered the eggplant Parm and it was delicious. Also just surprised it did not come with pasta that was extra.

Such a delicious meal! I got the lemon arugula pistachio pasta and it was wonderful. Great vegan option. My absolute favorite was the dessert, one of the best I’ve ever had in my life. The lemon blueberry semifreddo, I would go back just for the dessert!

Multiple seating areas with different vibes but overall the vibes are relaxed but upscale. They provide excellent service and an even better level of refinement when it comes to the food. The chef is from Naples and provides wonderfully authentic flavors while offering modern americanized versions of meals. The overall experience is only rivaled by via vecchia and solo italiano in Portland these two locations having a totally different experience however. But choosing amongst the 3 establishments I would choose Roma every time!

We had an excellent dinner last night at this iconic Portland restaurant, a favorite of our for decades. Every dish was excellent, but there were a few oddities. The scallop appetizer was delicious, but comprised of only two bay scallops, the price of $19 was outrageous. Our server warned us that it was only two scallops, but we assumed, as we were splitting it, that the scallops would be larger, given the price. The other anomaly was my husband’s fried pork cutlet: two big cutlets and a huge slab of potatoes. In both cases, half the portion size would have been fine. I had delicious ravioli of the day, but my portion (which was perfect) looked like an appetizer compared to his entree. Odd counterpoint. He could not finish his portion and took some home. Finally, we both had blueberry semifredo. Delicious, made with small Maine blueberries, but again, half the portion size would have been fine. We suggest that the management take a hard look portion sizing and the price of those scallops!…
My mom and I came here while visiting Portland. The food was so good, I’m definitely coming back next time I’m up here!

We made a reservation for 6:45pm and got there at 6:05 pm to park but could not find parking after 40 minutes of looking! We had to call them to inform them of our predicament and they said behind the restaurant there was parking and said “good luck!” Well, there were only about 4 spots and it was full.It was probably staff parking! We had to park partially out in the drive! We got there and they at least held our table! It was so loud and dark inside! They sat us next to a table filled with about 8 females who were intoxicated, loud, ,& rude! We couldn’t hear to talk to one another! We could not see the menu as lighting was terrible! I had to use the flashlight on my phone! One redeeming factor was that the food was good and prepared by a true Roman. It was however expensive in my opinion for a pasta dish. The waiter was attentive and he seemed to be the only one there really working other than the chef. We just couldn’t wait to leave! My husband and I wanted a cozy romantic spot and this was not it! When we left I pulled aside one of the female staff standing around and expressed my disappointment in the loudness and that it was too dark! She said to me,”thanks for the feedback!” Which told me she did not care! We won’t go back!
We ordered 3 appetizers for a party of 6. Our waitress took the order without mentioning the portion sizes of the appetizers.. pan seared scallops are $19 for 2 very small scallops. Arancini also served with 2 pieces. The arancini is not cheesy at all, lacks flavor and texture everywhere aside from the sauce. Did I mention you have to pay $2 for bread as well?
When entrees came the portion sizes were incredibly inconsistent, some being very large and some being a few bites, literally.
The raviolis came with 5 small pieces, they also tasted like garbage.. make sure you ask what kind of raviolis they are serving that day because the waitress didn’t mention it when I ordered.
All of the meals lacked flavor aside from the red sauce which is the only redeeming quality of the restaurant.
For such a high price point, I absolutely would not recommend this place to anyone.
