My favorite cocktail bar got more cozy. We love Portland Hunt and Alpine but have moved away from Portland but love returning for a white noise, green eyes and other cocktails. We heard they changed ownership and were pleasantly surprised of the cozy remodel, cute napkins and same great menu and service.

My husband and I had a reservation for 4:30 pm on a Friday and were seated immediately upon arrival. We were there for pre-dinner cocktails so we didn't order any food (we'd also had a late lunch). We each had two cocktails, I had the Lavender Collins which had just the right balance of floral and tart flavors and the Big League Chew, which was delightfully perplexing. It was a little sweet, very smoky, and a bit tart and at first I was unsure if I liked it but by the end of the glass, I was hooked! My husband had the White Noise to start, which was something I could easily drink all summer long, and his second cocktail was something that isn't officially on the menu anymore, but they'll still make, which is a rye-based negroni-esque cocktail called In Cold Blood. It wasn't my cup of tea (I'm not a rye lover) but he really enjoyed it! We would definitely go back to enjoy more unexpected flavors and cocktails we've never had anywhere else.

The best cocktail bar in Portland, hands down. Was a little sad at first about the Reno because the old look was so nostalgic for us, but we’ve been a few times since then and it’s grown on us.

Popcorn is a definite order and the cocktails are always amazing. Service never misses.

Great bartender, great food and drinks, nice little spot for a weeknight happy hour or an after dinner drink!

Charming cocktail bar with a great drink selection and some tasty snacks to go with it. The sourdough bread, warm olives, and popcorn are must-tries—simple yet perfectly done.

Casual space with happy hour options. I enjoyed the winter espresso martini and egg nog on this trip. The small bites are worth ordering, even if you're not there for food; I enjoy the alpine flavors and vibes.

I’ve been here a few times and normally it has been a 5 star experience. We came in tonight and there was no one in the restaurant but the host said they were open and sat us down. After 15 minutes of sitting at the table without attention we left. I wouldn’t recommend going under the new service. I hope they can figure it out and get it back to the normal experience

Based on all the accolades we have read over the years for the Portland Hunt & Alpine Club we finally got a chance to stop by before dinner at Bar Futo on a recent trip to Portland. I am not sure if the positive reviews found on sites like Imbibe and Punch reflect the current management, but our recent visit was underwhelming. Starting with indifference to the point of being unwelcoming while being seated, to the napkins thrown at us at the bar, to the warm oysters on salt with "mignonette"( straight vinegar) and the surprisingly limited and kind of random liquor selection, it felt like just another bar. If this place was not so highly recognized (two-time James Beard Award semi-finalists?) I would not bother leaving this review as it is acceptable as just another bar with bites, but I would not recommend it as someplace special.

Stopped in for a quick drink. The cocktail menu is inventive with plenty to choose from. Drinks were delicious. Staff was engaging and fun to talk to. Would definitely come back to try more.
