Beyond disappointed in the lack of service tonight. This is one of my favorite bars in the city and tonight’s service really made me question it and question if we come back. The waiter came to our table somewhat quickly and told us he would give us a minute with the menu. 15 minutes later, he finally took our drink order. 10 minutes later, a different waitress brings our drinks. Though both of them walked by our table 30+ times after that, dropping our drinks off was the last time either of them stopped to check up on us. Over 30 minutes of them walking by, looking at our menus on the table but never stopping to take our food order. Finally, after about 45 minutes of being there, we watched our waiter grab his jacket, say goodbye to his coworkers and then walk out for the night without so much as a word to us. The other waitress continuing to walk by us until I eventually just give her my card and ask to cash us out since we were clearly not going to be getting any service tonight. The bar tender seemed to be on the ball and did make great drinks and that is the ONLY reason a second star was given tonight. Very disappointed in what I once called my favorite bar.

We had a fantastic experience at Top of the East! The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. The drinks were absolutely amazing—creative, well-crafted, and delicious. We highly recommend checking them out for a great atmosphere and top-notch service!

Came back 10 yrs later and it’s a regular bar in the old port. If it smells like it, looks like it and are told you won’t get served for 20 minutes, it’s worse than what a dive bar used to be when dive bars were cool.
10 yrs ago; Martini tasted great. My bad but I didn't check the menu for the price as a friend had ordered it and it looked and smelled wonderful! Over $17 for one drink??? No bells and whistles, just 3 blueberries on the martini. Not top shelf. Not impressed. Not worth it.
Stopped by for pre-dinner cocktails and to enjoy the great view. Good drinks and excellent service from Lizzy who was very attentive but not intrusive. Enjoyed our time there.

The food is not great but this place is amazing for atmosphere and drinks. I don’t know who the short girl with curly brown hair is but I felt the way she approached me as I was leaving was inappropriate she was asking me awkward questions. I don’t know if this is her first serving job but you probably shouldn’t go up to another waitresses customer after they paid the bill and are obviously putting there jacket on to leave and ask them why they are standing. and then when I told her I was just debating on what I should do she asked me if I needed help in a condescending tone. I felt like I was being rushed out which I really didn’t appreciate.. I would recommend etiquette training. I’m a local and I’ve been a frequent customer here for over a decade and I was disappointed with the food as it has been exceptional in the past but the piano and saxophone performers were a nice added touch and it seemed that the other patrons were in great spirits enjoying their time. This has always been one of my favorite spots in town and I would still recommend to anyone who is looking for a great view and sophisticated atmosphere.
